This one of those cases where we should have drafted him, but I don't mind that we didn't. When the draft comes next year, we will be glad that we have multiple early first rounders. We are going to be in great spots to get both an olineman and an edge rusher. I just hope and pray that neither Chris Mara or Dave Gettleman have anything to do with whom we select.

With a sane GM hopefully not having to follow the Giants way we have a ton of ammo next draft

Well you just hope that extra pick turns into someone as good as Parsons or Slater. Otherwise it becomes moot. And we’re stuck with a broken shiny toy and a subpar player (when all along this team has been needing to solidify the OL for ten years ans in desperate need of a pass rusher for years) I can't disagree with that.

The Giants need a home run with the Bears pick or Parsons will haunt them for a while

stay tuned. Remember, it’s a career. If Parsons has no off field issues and continues to be productive it’s a whiff by the Giants. We’ve all seen how often Dallas players have issues over the years. Let’s see how this plays out.

The Giants need a home run with the Bears pick or Parsons will haunt them for a while thing is, a sure thing pass rusher doesnt come along so often. and when they do you grab them because their value is so important. now its more the same of kicking the can down the road "but wait till see what we get next season" stuff. Gettleman sucks, he keeps drafting WRs, TEs and making free agent acquisitions of the same to try and compensate for his ill-advised drafting of Jones at #6 and trading OBJ.

Parsons and Slater aren't surprises, but I'd take two very talented players over one.

Still not even one-year into these guys' careers ... lots of stuff could still happen that could completely change this evaluation (hopefully like Toney actually getting on the field for more than a few minutes each season).

How many WRs and TEs has Gettleman drafted Zero TEs (Kaden Smith was a waiver Wire pick up ? Up until Toney He only spent 1 5th round pick on a WR his first 3 years. Its a passing league and he completely neglected 3 drafts that were very deep with a lot of talent 2 of first 3 years and a 5tv round stab in 2019. It's WHY he had to do what he did last year our of desperation.

In hindsight, Parsons is a great player so far, and has behaved exemplary. Slater has also been fantastic, either would have been an excellent pick for us. I'm still ok with the trade down. That Bears pick will be quite high this coming draft, and will should also yield a damn good player. There is no one perfect answer. Hopefully Toney can get his health right, we've seen what he can do on the field, and it's really exciting.

With Chi's 4th and Miami's 3rd we have 2 picks in 3 of the first 4 rds in the top 5-7 of each of these rds. Plus our own of course in the 2nd rd. But if we can get a Parsons and Slater in the 1st rd and I'm thinking say another OL with our 2nd rd. We hit gold. But we can't miss with these picks I think were all thinking what you are GL with our fingers crossed.

Eh I think you can make a better case for Slater.
Far from the worst move they’ve made and a little too early to know.
Chances are the Giants lose out because Toney could have health issues and they will likely screw up the picks they got from the Bears. Just keeping it real.

Then he signed Golden Tate to a wasteful contract, Golladay is also heading in that direction. Also signed Kyle Rudolph. Arguably Barkley being a hybrid back was another attempt at giving Jones a receiving target - he's way underperformed his draft position too.

So again Gettleman only added a 5th round pick and a wish version of Cruz in 2019 before this past offseason for tbe only decent assets at that position We had tbe worst WRs in the league in 2020 What was he supposed to do,mind you we both know he had the perfect opportunity to address this in 2019 multiple times?

The guy from Penn State ACTUALLY worth the #2 overall pick gets passed up...
Yeah, that's the Giants way
I've figured that this team wants a bunch of goodie two shoes high character bums. Guys that sound great on camera but look like felines on the field. This team is a bunch of wussies...
Team captain is scared of contact...Not one tough guy on defense...Not 1....Right now, nobody is tough on the OL....Will hernandez likes to get chippy after the whistle.
Steve Smith was right about Gettlemans fear of Alpha Dogs....

Tate was supposed to be the "band aid" to make up for trading OBJ, and they gave him a $37.5 million deal

I have zero trust in this team drafting the right players next yr with all those high draft picks. In the past 5 yrs, who have they struck Gold with? Meanwhile our NFCE rivals have struck oil on many of their picks since 17'. Especially Dallas.

I was very high on parson and smith. It hurt when we let the cowboys take Parsons. Toney can't seem to stay on the field so that's not looking os hot right now, but I have to say I am happy about having two potential top 10 first rounders this season, but yes, I would've also been happy with having a guy like parson to build around on the defense. Could you image Parsons in the middle, Mckinny deep, oljalari up front.. Those are three very young guys who would be fun to build around defensively.

Some of us were rooting hard for Parsons because we knew he was either going to Philly or Dallas if we didn't. Sucks being right.
