Trade Saquon for draft picks. You stand at 5 & 7 in the first round now and need as many picks as possible. Nothing wrong with Booker.

Our compensation pick will be higher than what we can trade him for.
If you’re a GM that needs a RB why would you send a pick for a guy that you can sign as an FA in a year?
Maybe if you’re doing a Leonard Williams test drive deal, maybe.
But injuries and the overall falling star trajectory, he’s worth squat as trade bait.

If we can hide all the tape of Saquon playing this year, we might be able to get...............nah, never mind.

Barkley on the Chiefs would be interesting. I bet they would give us a 5th rounder or something.
Also, the trade deadline has cometh and gone.

I’m not sure he’s gonna get a mega deal after next season from anyone to help bolster the comp pick “algorithm”
I’d take a 4th for him when the new league year starts.
Then just wheel around and use that 4th on the best rb left on the board to go with brightwell booker and penny.
What’s the harm in leaking that he’s on the block? If you don’t get the 4th then wait the comp pick out

Somehow trading something for Barkley will contribute to the greater good…like rebuilding the oline. We can find another running back. Please, let’s back off Booker for a second ok? He’s not that good. But in reality, would Barkley kick ass behind a good oline? Probably. So what do you do?

Who is trading for Barkley? He has one year left on his deal and then would require a large extension... while not really proving anything. So unless you're willing to accept a 4th or less for him, no one is trading for him. Unless Gettleman is a GM somewhere else... Hey, LW fetched the jets a third rounder.

No team wants to drive up Barkleys value by trading for him right now. They'll wait him to hit FA, realizes that no one will give him top 5 RB money, and takes a much smaller deal. (what we should have done with LW, but I digress) ignoring that the trade deadline has passed but this holds true for next year as well.

Barkley had another 100 total yard day yesterday. Trading away 1 of the few players on the offense that produces would be such a Giants thing to do.

Don’t think that would have worked for LW. I think Getty spent a 3rd round pick in a test drive. LW is worth 10x what SB is right now. Regardless we basically agree. Just wait for him to hit FA and save the draft pick.

That was one of the worst rush defenses in the league. A large portion of his production came in garbage time when they laid back and let us burn the clock.

Why would any sane GM trade for Barkley? He tore his ACL last year and outside of a few bursts this year he's been repeatedly injured or questionable to play. Now, if Barkley gets back to his old self next year then that's good for the Giants' offense and increases his potential trade value if the new GM decides to go that way.

But in 2023, the Giants will have money to burn so there is a chance they won't get anything. EE won't be resigned next year so I think the Giants will get a 3rd for him due to his ability.

That might be the next GM but that GM might want to keep him and let him walk in 2023 to have something in place....

Unless Gettleman has relatives who happen to be general managers in this league. No one will trade for Barkley. You know it’s time to cut bait when he rushes for 64 yards against the 31st ranked defense. And that’s considered his best game of the year. Memo to all you future general managers out there. Never draft a running back early in the draft, I don’t care how big his thighs are, or how much yards he rushed for. Stay away.. You can find just as good of a player in the later rounds.

A player mind you who hasn’t played at an elite level in three years.. If we could get a 3rd, I would drive him to the airport myself and pack his bags..

Identify maybe 3 or 4 that could be salvaged and trade or release the rest. Reset button needs to be pushed. Housecleaning also needs to be done in the FO. Certain ppl need to be .'encouraged' to leave. I don't see any positive outcome with the present situation. As for coaching, it is a nice idea (feel good) to keep them and not firing, but one has to understand that if you have a bad coach/staff they need to be let go, regardless of how long they have been on the job. A bad coach does not miraculously get better over time. In any other organization if you have shown that you can't do the job, then you have to be let go.

A 3rd round pick isn't usually penciled in as a starter unless you are the Giants. Generally, those players are given a year or 2 to develop. Many 3rd round picks crap out or become backups. I would also take a 3rd for him since he will be a free agent in 2023 and the Giants will have a bunch of money to spend in 2023. There isn't a certainty that they would get a comp pick for the guy.

In theory, continuity is a good thing unless the coaches are average or bellow average. I wouldn't lose any sleep if Judge ends up back as the Patriots Special Teams coach. The guy is over his head and this a lesson for future hiring's. Jumping from s special teams coordinator to Head Coach is a massive leap, hell, most coaches can't even jump from a Offensive or defensive coordinator to headcoach...

I would still think a GM would be insane to trade for Barkley now, even for a third round pick. I mean, why trade for a injury-riddled RB who hasn't fully-bounced back from his ACL injury when you could just draft a healthy RB with that 3rd round pick and you're not giving anything extra up if that 3rd rounder doesn't work out?

Only GM in football who would do that is getting canned by the Giants. Exactly. He took a lot of heat for the LW trade. I’m hindsight it was a smart move. Doesn’t change the fact that we’re not nearly good enough to continue to work with him. not really. Gettleman ending up spending more b/c he had no choice but to franchise him. Then a monster contract in which Gettleman had to restructure by Sept. Have the Giants won more b/c of Williams? Nope. All that movement of shipping out JPP, Okawra, etc . . . the draft picks, the dead money, etc. losing Tomlinson and here we are. All Gettleman did was spend money. They didn’t win more, the 3-4 hasn’t been better than the 4-3. The DL isn’t better nor are the linebackers. Keep the 4-3 DL and build the OL? Nope, change everything and here we are.
