The New York Giants won their first Super Bowl.
This was the only truly dominant Giants team in my lifetime. (and THAT'S a long ass time)
We won our two NFC playoff games by a combined score of 66-3. Phil Simms (the greatest QB in Giants history) pitched a "perfect game" and it was the greatest performance by a QB in SB history.
What I remember from that game was trailing 10-9 at halftime and not having a care in the world. We killed everybody in the third quarter. Every Giants fan KNEW we were winning that game easily.
What a great team. 17-2.

Yes and that great goal line stand at halftime. Each of our great LBers each made a tackle during the first 3 downs LT, Harry, and Banks, then their Fg goes wide. They were done right there. When we came out in the 3rd qtr. That team just looked mean.
God I loved McConkey and Bavaro they were such tough guys. With that physical OL and Joe Morris.
Thank You Moorehead you got my juices flowing just thinking about that team.

The game was over once Harry Carson came out as the lone captain in the super bowl.

Scary first half. The Clarence Kay botched call (Giants safety next play), the goal line stand and both Rich Karlis missed field goals kept it close. Parcells going for it on 4th down at mid-field and the route was on.
We’re going to go down the field, take the lead and not look back.
