I didn't get to watch it until today so I'm a little late. I was traveling. I did get the box score after I turned off the plane mode function on my phone. I was pleasantly surprised.
After watching the game this afternoon, I can honestly still say my surprise was still pleasant.
Did we steal a win? Absolutely. But over the last several years, these are games we lose every time. We showed fight. Gumption. We chose to win.
Saquan was great. I hope this is the beginning of a magical season for him. He's a lot of fum to watch.
DJ is still an enigma. The strip sack was not his fault, but the interception in the end zone was just terrible. You can't make that throw. Awful decision. Still, he played well enough for us to win. It's the only thing that matters. Just win.
The oline seemed to get better as the game went on. And the defense played very well in the second half despite our lack of a pass rush.
The special teams unit seems a little bi-polar.
Game ball:
Saquan was fantastic and put the offense on his back. But, the game ball goes to Brian Da-Balls. We may not win a lot of games right away, but this team will not go down without a fight. This team will NOT be running QB sneaks because we were afraid to try.
A+ for the win.

I think defense isn't getting enough credit for not letting Henry take the game over. Crowder with the big hit set a tone for the defense. Our pass rush was non existent, but hopefully we get reinforcements with OJ and Thibs. One minor thing that worries me going forward, is our run defense when our 2 pass rushers are back. OJ broke contain a lot last year and was pushed off the ball when run blocked. Thib also reminds me more of a pure pass rusher than run stopper. I'm afraid that as our pass rush progresses, we will stumble on run defense.

they battled through mistakes and won anyway.
FGs are not automatic. The kicker had to make his play and he didnt. No gimmes here and its wasnt lucky.
Giants, players and coaches earned that win for sue.

Spot on
Any win for this team is a great win!
For once, in many years a miscue by the other team gave us the W!
Onto next week against the Panthers at home... I like the GMen in this one hope we get some good news on Thibs and Ojulari it could really add another dimension to the D which was missing this past week with a lack of pressue on Tannehil

Nice write-up...agree with the analysis and Saquon's gam ball.
I called DJ's INT awful at first but I take that back.
Jones threw the ball when Saquon was looking back on it...Saquon kept running. It seemed like Jones was aiming for back shoulder - for Saquon to turn around and make a contested catch/box out the corner.
Listened to PFFs review of the game and they had a similar take.

We still don't know how Thibs will handle NFL running games, although the "this is a pass first league" fans will point out getting to the QB is the primary goal. And Ojulari, I believe, has put on weight and will be up on the line more. So let's keep hope that we only build as guys come back or are utilized more.

Thibs was said to be good against the run in college which is all we have at this point to go on.. Hopefully OJs added weight and a year of experience will help him become better against the run..

I think most here were concerned about other teams running it up the gut with success, with certain personnel losses. But that effort against Henry was very heartening, with what we had. I'd like to see our offense get more things going early, so other teams' options against our defense become more limited.
