*gags*
Yet again we have to spend a premium pick at this position......which can me made more difficult if we decide to take a qb early..
Anyways
Let's post some links and guys yall like
Remember...this offense requires premium route runners that have YAC yards and we desperately need an over the top type threat ....size should not be a top attribute

I'm gonna go on a limb and say we franchise Jones, let Barkley walk....and draft WR, IOL and inside tackling machines at linebacker...oh and buy cornerbacks and a proven center/guard. We need a Chase type WR....and the guy I put in bold is top ten despite not playing now due to a hammy.

I’ll admit I’m not as in tune with other teams around the league as I used to be, but looking at the 2023 FA class, I’m not seeing any top flight IOL nor any top corners. Take a look and let me know if I’m missing any standouts. Letting Barkley walk may not be worth it if there arent quality free agents to use the freed up money on. ALOT will change come next free agency, but as it stands now, i think we’d be best off talent wise next season by either trading sqb during this season or franchising him this offseason and letting him walk in 2024, when hopefully more FA talent is available.

Quentin Johnston TCU - 6'4, ex-basketball player..very long. Has quickness, ball skills, breaks tackles/lots of YAC, and is very elusive after the catch. ...doesn't mean a whole lot but saw a player comp to Kevin White which isn't good...there are some similarities though.
14 catches 206 yards last weekend.
----------- Below information from nfldraftbuzz.co OVERALL RANK: #37 POSITION RANK: #5 (WR)
40 TIME: 4.40 SECONDS
HEIGHT: 6-4 WEIGHT: 212
DATE OF BIRTH: 09/06/2001 AGE: 21 SCOUTING REPORT: STRENGTHS =============================
He’s a precise route runner, creating separation when used on quick outs and stop patterns in college. Johnston has good stop-start ability and lateral agility.
He’s excellent downfield, accelerating to top speed quickly and stacking on top of cornerbacks. He has excellent body control, contorting to make difficult catches and working well on back-shoulder throws.
Is a super athletic player who has elite speed combined with an impressive catch radius. Long arms with elite leaping ability
Could well have the best combination of speed, acceleration, and size of any wideout in the class
He also proved to be a force in catch-and-run situations. A violent runner who transitions upfield quickly after the catch, Johnston has the speed to pick up chunks of yardage once he’s broken the first tackle.
He accelerates quickly and possesses good straight-line speed. Johnston shows solid ball-tracking skills and body control downfield, able to adjust to the off-target throw.
Very good hands accepts the ball fluidly on most throws and is ready to make a play afterward. Makes catches in traffic, even going up over taller defenders with vertical and toughness.
A savvy, natural pass-catcher with reliable hands and very good focus. Snatches the ball out of the air and shows the concentration to make acrobatic catches look easy.
He’s equally dangerous in catch-and-run situations as he is taking the top off a defense
SCOUTING REPORT: WEAKNESSES ============================= Despite his size Johnston is not a dominating blocker and will need to develop his skills to become a complete pro player
Has only run a limited route tree at TCU - scouts will take notice of the extent he is given a chance to expand this in 2022
He’ll have to develop a better feel for sitting down against zone coverage.
Johnston isn’t as good as you expect given his athletic traits on contested catches.
He also had problems with focus drops when coming back to the action. Johnston has some issues against press coverage, sometimes spending too much time hand fighting at the line of scrimmage.

I like Keylon Stokes (Tulsa) in the later rounds. He is a sleeper steel.
I also like the Center Gerard Wheeler

Probably don’t have the cap space next year. But it could be good bringing in a vet that still has legs to help bring these young players along.
OBJ…?

He and Hooker have a chemistry ...not sure if he's a 1st round talent as a lot of play calling is getting him WIDE open....but still, 5 TD catches against Alabama

I know what your saying tho last night they were all finding aton of space thats not gonna happen in the NFL much. Unless you can face the 2017 Giants the last 3 games of that year.

That much separation against that secondary that is perennially loaded with good future NFL talent is eye opening enough Oh and their legit number 1 Tillman (a rare bigger guy that has top end speed and gets separation...reminds me of AJ Brown)out meaning Hyatt was their only threat left.. Let's see how the rest of the year goes but he is on my wish list

I think they are 2 playmakers away from being legit especially in they can ever get Toney on the field for more then a flash. I have to admit if Im Schoen I'm drafting over him this year think actually kind of did with Wandale. Haven't completely checked on him yet but if he play spurts only this year it will be time.

Any non-divas? That's the #1 trait in a WR for me going forward.

I posted Quentin Johnston before but looks like he may be off the board before we draft.
Just discovered Josh Downs...100+ catch 1000+ yard guy in the last two seasons. Very productive. His father was Gary Downs, drafted by the Giants in the 3rd round in the 90s.
Fits more of the slot mold again...but this guy looks like the real deal. Can probably trade back and still pick him up at the bottom of the first.

Remember the mantra: smart, tough, and dependable. That might nix the OSU guy from our draft board.

We should try and get a consensus big board for position groups for the message board. Could make for some fun off season chatter as we go through pro days and scouting combine to see how it effects everyone’s opinion.

Depending on the details that they learn in the draft process, they might not see him as being tough and/or dependable as he was hurt all year and opted to not play in CFP.

Here's my #1 pick: Quentin Johnston. He's fast elusive hard to bring down, great hands, major YAC and he's 6-4.
