I knew that one SG and most of the ones in the glossary. But I don't know what the "OPS" is ? I see it with the stats all the time.

Slugging is just the number of bases a player records per at bat. Walks and HBP's do not count. Literally none of my friends knew that one without googling it. Lol

I knew that one SG and most of the ones in the glossary. But I don't know what the "OPS" is ? I see it with the stats all the time. OPS is on base percentage plus slugging percentage. And OPS+ puts it into perspective vs your peers, with 100 being average. I think its a great way to measure a hitters impact. Last year, Judge had an absurd 212 OPS+ on the year, best in MLB by far. He was at a 194 OPS+ this season before going down. Ohtani is currently at a 180 OPS+ OPS+ also takes into consideration ball parks. So those cheap HRs into the short porch at Yankee Stadium actually hurt your OPS+.
