This is wild if true, especially considering Shanahans past... Im wondering if HE even knew, taking the ball first. That’s the least of his problems.. He’s staring down the barrel of an 0-2 record in the Super Bowl. And was front and center to the biggest collapse in Super Bowl history. As his offense in Atlanta took their foot off the pedal and parked in a ditch. He also has to explain to ownership that a team that has more studs than the Golden Gate Bridge. Is going back home empty handed. He kinda reminds me of Andy Reid while he was the HC in Philly. Great teams, great HC, but never could get that ring. 49ers on paper could take a big step back next year. Losing some key guys to FA and retirement is very possible. CMC another year older.

They’re able to rob from Peter.. and kill Paul to have all those players under one roof. With Brock Purdy outperforming his chump change of a salary. They will have to pay him or dump him in the next two years. Just as Seattle felt it with Russel Wilson. And the Bengals with Joe Burrow. Once the quarterback is up to bat.. The whole team is put on notice. Their window is not only starting to close.. it’s going to take some players down with it.

Im going to be honest, this was the worst KC Chiefs team of the past 6-7 years. And they still won it all. They lost their best OLman, have nearly zero star WRs (Rice I guess is decent as a rookie). Pachecho is good hard runner, but not a star (Ahmad Bradshaw type). Kelce is not the same Kelce he was years ago.
Yet they still won it.
Kinda impressive.

Coaching can take mediocre players and make them good, good players great.. When Reid was let go by the Igs one of the Hunts flew his private plane to Philly for an interview. They didn't even let him hit the streets. Likewise when Sabin left Miami, Alabama was on him the next day I think didn't let him leave the building. Good organizations know who the great coaches are. I think if Dabes falters (Or Mara doesn't like the Diet Eli he selects in the draft) there is on the bench, Vrabel, Carrol, Belicheck, and even Sabin

Yes, I was speaking offensively since this is Patrick Mahomes team, and he is the best QB in the league. You are right though, that defense was pretty solid all year long for them. They were probably a top 5 defense. Behind Baltimore, Cleveland, SF, Jets... Saints and Patriots had some good defenses too.

Oh Jim! That was the single greatest coaching display ever (Jim) in a Super Bowl!
I love you Jim.
Before wrecking the last play of the broadcast I thought Romo was confused (“what’s going on?”) as to why KC was running a play rather than let the clock run out. I didn't catch his questioning on the play, but I couldn't help but notice when he began rambling over the celebration as it was taking place.

This is wild if true, especially considering Shanahans past... Im wondering if HE even knew, taking the ball first. Shanahan is a great HC. I’d have to assume he knew the rules. His defense just got off the field at the end of regulation after an 11 play drive. They were gassed going into that drive also because the prior drive was 12 plays. I think the strategy was to forfeit the leverage of knowing what you have to do offensively in order to spell the defense in OT (which they did for almost 8 mins of playing time and 13 plays).

I agree. I really expected them to lose so my hat's off to them. I've never rooted for them before but I found myself pulling for them during the game.

He was saying he wouldn’t run a play. Just take it into the next quarter of OT. I couldn’t care less about Romo or any other commentator. They don’t make or break a game for me. But one thing that actually stood out to me is when Romo was singing going into break. For the first time I actually thought to myself about Romo, “just shut the **** up.”

Some posters here didn't want to put Mahomes over Eli even before the Superbowl yesterday which is crazy to me. Mahomes was already a top 10 QB ever before his win Yesterday imo.

at the peak of drama he was trying to explain the overtime rules for those assumed confused. He thought the clock was going to run out and there was no urgency to snap the ball. He’s a f’ing idiot who creates mayhem during broadcasts like when he played football in tight situations. thankfully he derailed his own Cowboy teams with crazy antics late. Flapping his arms around, pumping his leg, drawing his own linemen into false starts.

At some point you have to appreciate greatness. I can understand if you’re a fan of another AFCW team, you probably hate him. Same with Brady. If you’re a jets, Bills or Fins fan you probably hate him. But Mahomes is vying for GOAT status soon. As a fan of football you just have to appreciate it IMO

The Chiefs had the #2 ranked D in points and yards. It's crazy. Reminds me of the Pats and Brady getting all the credit, even though they had a top 5 D most years they won and at worst top 10. Brady/Mahommes obviously deserve tons of credit, both were top of the mountain, but damn having a good D doesn't get enough credit lol.

Mahomes is mountain ahead of Brady at the same time in their careers as a QB. Brady didnt really take off as a dominant QB until 2007 with Randy Moss. Prior to that, although still a solid QB, his numbers just were only "good" at best. PM threw 50 TDs and won an MVP in his 2nd year. Now in order for him to surpass TB for a career, he is going to have to continue to do what he has done another 5-6 years which will be a huge test especially if he losses Reid IMO. To the point about defensive yards and scoring, some of those #s are due to the Mahomes/Brady offenses staying on the field and constantly moving the chains. Scoring %, RZ % and 1st Down % are bigger indicators IMO. Its takes out the effect the offense has on a defense, for the most part.

The last time that all star team won was 60 years ago. The sport has changed a little bit since then. The NFL was barely unsegregated at the time lmao. Since the AFL/NFL merger they played 10 games and the All Stars were 0-10 with an average of 8.5 points scored per game and an average of 25 points given up.
Michigan would not only lose to the Panthers, they'd have a hard time scoring against them.

college teams didn't run a pro offense then. College teams segregated as well for a long time. Next argument.

That comes to my mind way too often when I'm watching a game he's calling.
I find him to be a distraction from the game.
