That's encouraging, but Eli's struggles have come when the defense can hit him.
We're going to need to see him play several games in the regular season before we'll know where his game is at.

Luckily, we've got a better OL at this point then the last 4 years, not to mention Barkley's blitz pick up ability, plus utilizing Ellison correctly.....I think we're in for a show this season from Mr. Manning.

QB's are always "impressive" in OTA's because they know they aren't getting hit. That is especially true with Eli when he doesn't have to worry about chucking and ducking or going down without being hit.

What? Just having Eli fend for himself and when it does not go the way the Head coach and GM wanted to. Blame the QB. That is not a good plan? hmmm imagine that.

positive news is better than negative news. Its only OTAs and a vet like Eli should be impressive but I will still take the good news over bad

He dislikes any post that says something positive about Eli.

All true, not to mention the Giants will no longer be saddled with Ben's high school offense and will huddle once again.
Man, I am so happy to be rid of that guy.

Exactly right. It's pointless to get excited about practice, especially when the QB is wearing a red shirt.

between this and the improvements in the OL (hopefully), I'm thinking we may see the old Eli (ala 2011 playoffs) rather than the shell shocked version we've seen the last year or so. When there is no confidence in both the game plan and the line, I'm not sure how many QB's would fair well.

Remember in Major League when Cerrano is destroying fastballs in spring training, then they dial up the curves? See what happens when he has guys at his feet. I actually think Kurt Warner is a good example of what is possible. He was pretty much shell-shocked from Martz letting the crap beat out of him. He still was that when he came to us. However, when he got settled in Arizona he got it back. Hopefully Eli can regain what he's lost. I'm not so sure, as a younger baseball player once I developed a hitch in my swing I was never really able to get rid of it.

QB has to be the position that would be he least surprising to do well in OTA's.
It's not just that he's not going to get hit, it's that he knows he will never be touched.
Still...and good news is welcome.

Power run game, 2 TE sets, threat of play action. YAC from Barkley and Odell with some sprinkled in from Engram and Shep. These things will keep Eli comfortable and confident.

While this doesn't necessarily mean anything, its sure better than "Eli Manning was an embarrassment to watch throughout otas as he looked scared, unsteady, and quite rusty. He missed a wide open receiver by 10 yards and constantly muffed the hand offs to Barkley. He had to run to the sidelines multiple times to look at the playbook, and then tripped on his own shoelace jogging back out. Coach Shurmur could be seen rolling his eyes and spitting on the ground. Multiple players on offense let out audible groans while the defense cackled."
Yes, I'll take the positivity over the alternative.

All I can say is nothing is proven at this time of year because we will not know if the OL is actually better until the pads come on and will not know for sure wether there will be a run game till the pads come on,these have been the reason for the offenses failures over the years, the inability to fix the OL and the run game can't be one dimensional for years and think defenses wouldn't be able to stop a predictable one trick pony.

Eli looking terrific is fine. But at this point just learning the offensive system and getting it down is whats important. It's a new offense lets get everyone knowing what to do. Much more important. Eli will be just fine lets just get in sync here with these OTA's. That's whats important.
