McCarthy didn’t announce yesterday at National Championship celebration he was staying at Michigan. It would of been the perfect time. Speculation is he will declare for draft later today. JJ has all the tools to be a stud All - Pro. Michigan held him back with a run dominant offense. He is accurate - strong arm - great runner - throws on the run on target - cool calm under pressure. Weaknesses - sometimes tries to do to much = dumb decisions. He toned that down this year. - throws across his body that could cause him more trouble at the next level. He got away with it in college for the most part. He hasn’t proven accuracy on the long ball but Michigan didn’t throw the ball down field due to WR limits. We have an awful high pick so how is it best spent. JJ has been in the discussion as a top 10 pick to lasting until the second round.
He would however be perfect to sit behind DJ and get groomed and a chance to enhance all his skills.
He is a first class guy who would be a an excellent face of the franchise. A true role model for today’s youth.
IF he declares and we have the opportunity to snag him I’ll get it if we take him and I’ll get it if we don’t.
Decisions.

Not a bad choice I would still go with Bo Nix if he is available...

Not a bad choice I would still go with Bo Nix if he is available... Understandable - he had impressive #’s - in the Pac - 12 however which has wall to wall lousy defensive teams. McCarthy is 27 - 1 in the Big 10, Conference Championships and National Championship games. 72% completion this past season and over the past 2 seasons 44 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. That’s in a run dominant offense. Bo Nix’s lofty #’s are in an pass dominant offense against soft defenses. My mind is a bit poisoned on Nix from his 2 years at Auburn. He was average at times and awful at times. JJ hasn’t gotten the chance yet to exhibit his total game. Bo has shown all he’s got. JJ over Nix 7 days a week for me. However I respect your opinion on Nix. He’s just as athletic as JJ and has a great arm but overall his success is a product of Oregons offensive design vs average at best defenses. Just my opinion. ✌🏻

personally, I was not impressed by JJM in the 3 or 4 games I watched. I think he would have benefitted by staying one more year, especially since next year's QB class is not suposed to be that strong.

Just my opinion. ✌🏻 You could say the same thing about Justin Herbert and CJ Stroud..JJ was somewhat neutered in the championship game against a decent but not great Wash defense. There were times this year where the OC of MI did not let him throw the ball - that is concerning. There were also games where he was at best average. - ok. Nix has improved dramatically since his Auburn days. Saw him in a few games and his pocket presence and field vision was quite impressive. One has to look at the body of work and project that to the NFL to make a fair assessment. Unlike most I am looking for a QB that could become a decent NFL starter and can do what a starter is supposed to do. Trying to project a franchise label onto a college prospect is a silly notion..Now as for JJ I like him but not totally sold on him
