[br It’s ruining sports because they don’t stick to their own rules! The whole premise was supposed to be about getting a play right, but within a time limit . Replay wasn’t meant to take officials 5 minutes and 20 looks from 10 different angles. They were supposed to look and see if a play was right or wrong within a very short time limit. If it was obvious it was changed if not it stands as called. But as usual they took a stupid idea and made it intolerable .And they STILL don’t always get it right!!!

And the article touches on that. They created another aspect to the game that they get wrong.

I think it is removing the human element out of the game. It survived for decades with the notion that bad calls were going to happen. In the end the bad calls would form their own equilibrium and cancel themselves out. I do believe replay is doing more harm them good.

This article is so on point and the charge reversal call on LeBron is the icing on the cake...I was livid when they reversed the call. A change to the review rules is long over do!

Yes I believe it is. I would like to see it go away or, if it is to be used, for slow motion replay to be banned and a maximum number of looks to be set. If a decision contrary to what the official said can’t be made with 1-3 looks of full speed video then original ruling stands and MOVE ON.
Otherwise they might as well just fire all on-field officials and implement an automatic officiating system.
I give soccer and baseball credit for resisting replay the way they have but even they are starting to crack more and more.
It is unfortunate because it ruins sports in more ways than one. #1 integrity of the game is harmed since replay doesn’t always lead to a correct or reasonable outcome, #2 judging the game in slow motion leads to creeping and distortion of the rules as it allows the game to be viewed through an artificial lens that players, coaches, and officials and even fans aren’t viewing through. All that catch nonsense in the NFL would never have happened if there was no slow motion replay. It turns to legalese and philosophy damn quick. #3 pacing and duration of sports is absolutely ruined by replay. This is irrefutable.
I absolutely hate it
