Recent interview with Phill Simms...link below. "It's more than just the quarterback..."I think they'll be very, very competitive when it comes to next year. It doesn't take a lot. They're solid. And if it clicks, you can just kind of come out of nowhere." "They lost some unbelievable games [in 2023]. They could have ended up winning nine games this past year. It just didn’t fall for them, which it did the year before,” said Simms via The U.S. Sun. “But I think they’ll be very, very competitive when it comes to next year.” Simms on Jones - "the quality of his arm...he's a really good thrower...a couple of guys just can't get over his accuracy...Daniel Jones just does not miss." www.the-sun.com/sport/10203117/nfl-phil-simms-new-york-giants-houston-texans/

Phil Simms should do comic relief. Seriously, he's pretty much on an island with the few fans of 8 still lingering around and people on the Giants payroll.

"Daniel Jones just does not miss." - Simms
Clearly Simms is getting some of that contract Jones signed.

This interview is almost a year old. Phil was talking about last season carrying into 2023, not 2024.
You may have intended to post something recent, this is not it.

The interview with the article link about Giants being very, very competitive next season is 5 days old, was published on the January 26th, 2024. The Youtube video is 10 months old after Jones was signed, just wanted to include that because he had some more in depth analysis on Jones...could add some context on to why Simms thinks the Giants will have a bounce back year next year.

A Big Off Season and absolutely they can be competitive Next Season but it is going to take Big Top Tier Free Agent signings not 2nd/3rd Tier Cheap Signings and a Big Draft
I think Schoen can get it done...HOPEFULLY!

We've been hearing it for over 10 years. Next season will likely be as bad as this season was. All we can do is hope to turn the corner in 2025.

Jones doesn't miss....
...unless you're in the end zone and/or more than 4 yards past the LOS.

Jones would miss the ocean if he was swimming in it.. Our leading receiver was the turf before he got shelved. Simms is a living legend around these parts. Before the league put lipstick on its quarterbacks. He didn’t need it for that was real blood on his face. Being that he has played in this town and knows better than anyone what it takes to last when so many have failed. This is nothing more than him throwing a bone when it should have been a hatchet.

I’ll go with Jones again, I’m not ashamed to say it. The problem with this team is that their piece of shit front office doesn’t know how to build an offensive line. I’ll bet Simms wouldn’t have lasted half as long as Jones if he had to work with this disaster of a line. Simms didn’t run often. Imagine Neal protecting Simms. What a joke.

Every single year teams make the jump from trash to challenger, we have lots of talent but have to fill some holes and then we will see. The Lions had 3, 5 and 3 wins (this last 3 win season under Campbell). Then they won 9 games. This year they won 12 and should be in the Super Bowl. The Browns had 12 seasons of single digit wins averaging 4.25 wins a year in that span, then they won 11 games and a playoff game.
This happens all of the time in the NFL. Some day it'll be our turn.....hopefully in the 2020s (we've won a SB in each of the last 4 decades).

We don't even know who our QB will be, much less how the OL and the rest of the team will be able to perform.

I do agree with “if it clicks” it can all come together. Talent is important but scheme and belief by the players is huge. Teams can get on a roll. I’ve said it before, the fact that NYG was very close to squeezing 9 wins out of a rotten apple impresses me. Losing the top two QBs, losing starting O linemen for extended periods, and lack of synergy amongst coaches it’s no wonder Daboll had an edgy disposition. The last thing I’m talking about is scrapping the GM and HC.
