The Giants are all they know. While most sport owners made their money elsewhere, Maras did not. I saw a list recently which ranked net worth of Sports owners, John Mara was at the bottom with 500m. I suppose this is because he has to split with his siblings and other share holders which are actively part of the organization. What I'm trying to say is, Mara(s) or McDonnell(s) ain't selling the team anytime soon. Here's how much Mara gets involved when DG made the trade and was about to pick Toney the only question Mara had was Dave are you sure about this and we know the answer. This theory has been floating around forever but every GM that has worked have said the only thing they get is full support all money and all support make what ever changes they feel need to be made, judging by the last 12 or so years of drafts he should be asking more questions and so should one of the Tisch's. DG and JR could be slaughtering them but there not till some one says they are pushing dumb football moves I will stick with they were way to loyal to Reese and after that didn't learn there lesson and repeated it with DG lucky they canned him after 4. schoen seems to be the most modern out of all of them we will see how his drafts go so far it's a mixed bag at least they aren't tiffs like so many had been 10 ro 11 years before he took over. I get your points, but how often do ex-GMs slam their previous employers? It doesn't happen. That would be career suicide. Nobody outside the organization knows exactly how much ownership is involved in roster decisions. All we can do speculate and go by what they say or let slip out. Mara is on record saying any QB drafted by the Giants has to be Ok'd by him. www.google.com/amp/s/www.nj.com/giants/2019/08/the-1st-question-giants-owner-john-mara-asked-daniel-jones-before-nfl-draft-how-rookie-qb-answered.html%3foutputType=amp

Congrats Spags! I know it's easy to think of Eli and the "catches" in the last 2 Super Bowl victories for the Giants but it really was more The D and Spags.

Spags is the only DC to win 4 SB's with this win yesterday. It was said on TV after the SB. Spags defense played great. Players stepped up tremendously on that KC defense McDuffie, Sneed, Chris Jones, Pennel. Above and beyond.
But Spags was the one who called those blitzes on 3rd down twice in that 4th qtr. We all know Spags we knew he was sending them. So did Romo, he said it. Twice ! If Chris Jones doesn't put that big hand up Purdy throws a TD pass on 3rd down in that 4th qtr. And S.F. scores a TD instead of kicking that FG
I always loved Spags and am very happy for him. With that win yesterday he goes into the HOF.

Thats how this franchise got into this mess they never replaced McKenzie Snee Ohara Suebert Diehl Tuck Osi Pierce took 5 years to replace BJ and Bradshaw the list goes on this has been the down fall since 2009 the pipeline has been empty of players that should have been waiting their turn. Only reason I didn't add Strahan is because they drafted JPP thye did draft OBJ but never replaced Manningham and Cruz or Toomer for that matter. This is why the suck and will suck till they fill out the starting units and get some depth in here that doesn't happen over night. I’ve been pleading this case for years! How voids were never filled for some reason. Where’s all the ****ing money? But still, you see people on this board excited every camp about how great they think our garbage is. Garbage! And they wonder why I get mad. They need t draft their way out of this Reese then Gettlemen tried buying their way out and it just prolonged the pain

If they end up frozen out they might want to let Daboll Kafka and Tierney take a stab at developing fields hate the idea of it but we are talking 2026 if things don't go our way in our search fro a QB this draft. He has the traits in spades problem is he is do to get his option picked up. Well, Fields is in his 4th yr so by 2026 he’ll cost a fortune if he’s any good. Yup thats the issue if he turned out to be the QB of the future does it matter, Just don't think i can take 2024 and 2025 of Jones they gotta d something

And Snee was hitting the wall by then he had shoulder issues and hip they new he wasn't long for the NFL they were a clown show both Randle and Wilson were reaches to boot Wilson was a project he fumbling issues and had very little pass pro and Randle was just Randle i can remember ever draft analyst saying no no no not in the second. Giants had a 1st around grade on Randle and were stunned he was still there. 😳 Thats why they suck now because of things like that I can remember it like yesterday every analyst was like none he was a reach just like many of the picks back then, he was a 1st rounder on their board only this as the faze where the Giants acted like they new more than all the other 31 teams. Like when they drafted Mychal Thompson in the 5th round in most circles except the Giants he was considered a UDFA when he was used what teams were interested in him he said no he talked to no other team but the Giants. These are just 2 of the many reasons the Giants are where they are now.

Spags is a brilliant DC. He benefitted greatly by having a defensive leader like Chris Jones holding the entire team accountable. KC does not go back to back without either of them, even with their offensive stars.

So Mara said exactly what all the GMs scouts coaches have said if they believe in the pick he's not intervening. Remember when DG said he was in "full bloom love" with DJ after seniorbowl. I think it's interesting that Mara still met with DJ prior to the 2019 draft, he's on record saying DJ reminded him of a young Eli.

All I'm saying is so far there is no evidence that he is making picks or over ruling anyone. Schoens top 3 guys are not named Mara or McDonald. The question he asked was an important one because many athletes have folded like cheap lawn chairs under the media pressure of NY. Mara's biggest issue was mis placed Loyalty Reese TC and the whole crew should have been gone 2014 -2015 instead he gave them an open check book knowing buying a team never works. Yet again he hires a X Giant in Gettlemen and repeats all the same crap gives him full and unwavering support and an open check book and he get screwed again what did he think was gonna happen. I would rather have him meddling then doing that. Unfortunately he has been doing what good team don't do letting GMs try to buy their way out of their inability to draft suitable NFL talent.

KC does not go back to back without either of them, even with their offensive stars. Your right Salmon, Mahomes gets the headlines of throwing the winning TD pass but the KC defense won that game. Holding MCC to 67 yds rushing, Kittle to13 yds receiving, Once again holding a team to under 20 pts (in regulation time) for the 9th straight game. Under 10 pts in the 2nd half for the 9th straight game. Spags won that game with those two 3rd down blitzes. A balls move. Us Giant fans knew he was coming, one of them in an all out blitz 7 strong. Saved a TD making Purdy throw that incompletion into the end zone on 3rd down and forcing the FG instead of a TD.
