DJ is better than Mitch, he looked terrible in Pittsburgh, even by comparison. I'd bring back TT first, and quite a few of the other FA backups before signing him.

I know that our QB room is amongst the worst in the NFL, but Trubisky would do nothing to improve it. Hard pass for me.

If we can sign Trubinsky for $8 million and find a replacement for Barkley at $4 million we can spend the same amount as this season and be both worse on the field and on paper.

I have more faith in Devito than I do in Trubisky.
Trubisky's college game was all time throws into space and trusting that his receivers would get there. He looked so pro ready it was ridiculous. I am still shocked he has looked so bad since becoming a pro. He even looked good early on with the Bears. No idea what happened to the guy, but it has run its course, the damage is done. Time to draft JJ Mcarthy or Bo Nix and win a superbowl.

Nah - we already have 2 lousy QB’s DJ and Devito.
We’ll be drafting a QB by round 2 IMO. That guy will have a quick lane to be a starter if DJ doesn’t finally get his crap together. Mitch is just more of the same of what we have - scraps in a QB pile.

Just a historical note. Trubisky was drafted second In the 2017 NFL draft. Chicago dealt 3 draft picks to move up for him. Maybe we spend the sixth pick on a sure thing and get the QB later.

Its like trading 6 for a half dozen. Sure, the cap hit isnt as bad as DJs but we are stuck with DJ on our team in 2024. The sooner we accept it, the quicker we can move forward.
I think Id rather draft a 2nd tier QB (Penix, Nix, McCarthy) over running with Trubisky

Just a historical note. Trubisky was drafted second In the 2017 NFL draft. Chicago dealt 3 draft picks to move up for him. Maybe we spend the sixth pick on a sure thing and get the QB later. And then they traded up again for another QB in Fields and got even worse. I think they were in the playoffs with Trubisky...they haven't come close with Fields..would have been better off just to keep Mitch.

There are 52 other players on the roster, its not like Trubisky carried the team on his shoulders
