That was a pretty good overview but some obvious close minded kinks. The criticism about the Bowling Green game. Second game of the year and he was definitely a bit off. He threw 4 interceptions all year 3 vs Bowling Green but only 1 the next 13 games. The complaint about missing open WR’s. Michigan’s WR’s were underwhelming. JJ had one good target Roman Wilson. Wilson was a 4* recruit. The remainder of the WR cast was nothing to write home about. On a decent percentage of those misses the WR made the wrong decision on how the play was supposed to be executed. JJ throws the ball before the receiver makes the break so a lot of that has to do with cohesiveness between the quarterback and wide receiver. As I said Michigan’s wide receivers were very middle of the road. He had great tight ends though and I don’t recall him blatantly missing one of those throws?. JJ does miss throws though but who doesn’t. Lastly the sucks at long throws comment. Michigan did not ask JJ to throw the ball down field very much and when he did he was at times off target. With more reps with top end wide receivers I don’t see it being a problem at all. I’m a fan of JJ McCarthy but won’t have my heart broken if we don’t select him. The main reason I stick up for him is because of all the boneheaded comments about him when the draft and quarterbacks started being discussed. He’s a great kid - great competitor - class guy would be a perfect face of the franchise. I do however understand the skeptical part for those that are unfamiliar with him compared to me. I still believe when all is said and done he will be the best quarterback coming out of this draft. If you disagree with me that’s fine I get that too. Thanks for posting👍 I think he does have a pretty good arm, not worried about that at all, and as a former hockey player, you know he's got the toughness. My worry is that he played on a team that was significantly more talented then most of his competition, and he wasn't asked to do that much, so he has a lot of upside, not known performance. I don't think we should trade up for any of the QBs in this class, but would not be upset if he or Maye fell to us at 6 and suspect that if either are there, we're going QB...

OK? Chicago has the 1st, and we have the 6th... Chicago, needs an immediate impact at QB . Chicago will take one of the other three QB's. There’s three certainties in life. Death.. taxes.. and Chicago getting the quarterback position wrong. The Bears have been hibernating since the Great Depression with finding one. No matter who they draft, sign, or trade for. It will blow up in their face. When it comes to the most important position on the field. They’re the George Costanza’s of the league.. They could turn a wet dream into a nightmare..

You’re whole paragraph is very reasonable. It’s hard to argue with that perspective. I just want players that would improve the Giants and I think McCarthy can. If we get Maye I’m certainly not going to bitch about it. His escapability comes up short to JJ’s but Brady wasn’t the most mobile guy.

Hate his size. Was hoping Washington would take him. JJ is my number 1 knowing Caleb Williams is going 1 over all to the Bears. I am a big JJ fan and it would be a close call for me if I had the number 1 pick. I am in what ever it takes to get your QB camp like we did for Eli. I hope they are wrong,

I believe his weight will be a big factor on where he’s ultimately drafted. If he comes in light I could see him falling. You don’t see many 180lbs running QBs have success in the NFL.

Daniels has the whole tool box. I was very impressed watching him last season. The thing is a lot of his wow is related to running free with a strong arm and finding the open guy as he extends the play with his legs. That’s going to eventually get him broken in half in the NFL if he remains wiry. I believe more than ever McCarthy will be the best QB in this class when the dust settles. Williams folded with his team this past season. He played in the defenseless PAC 12 ( except for Utah ) had lots of weapons yet was underwhelming. The JJ doubter club on this board has shrunk drastically but there are still some stubborn knuckleheads who can’t bring themselves to admit they were off target when they thought he was a game manager only who only handed the ball off. That opinion has been blown to hell. The guy will be a star. Too bad it won’t be in a Giants uniform. Washington may kick our ass with JJ behind center sooner rather than later if they snag him and give him weapons.
