Pro days can be deceiving Fooled me back onto the Darnold at 2 mentality, along with many actual experts I been doing a lot of reading on Daniels. A lot of guys are talking about him needing more than some developing in the way he runs and reasons why he runs, there a lot of he runs to run not create and also he takes a lot of big shots because he like Jones is willing to take the hits for the yards. Also some issues with accuracy in the short and intermediate parts of the field don't think it is anything that would worry teams with good support system in place to develop a young QB but some are saying this can move him down below guys like Maye and McCarthy. Giants will not get a shot at him but it sounds like with Jones and lock in place this would be almost perfect fro him to sit and not be rushed onto the field let him have 4 or 5 months of clip board duty and helping Tierney run the QB meetings with scouting reports and such good way to learn by knowing what the QBs need to be looking at.

That’s good to see. I wouldn’t mind one bit if he was a Giant. I don’t want to trade up for any QB including my first choice McCarthy. Daniels should be a star - he’s too talented not to be. Earlier this year I had Daniels as my number one QB but everything JJ has done since winning the football championship has move the needle for me but it’s close. don’t fall victim to combine and pro day numbers, they mean nothing. Too much emphasis placed on this stuff. What does the game day film show you? Daniels is tops in this class.

I think Daniels has a fairly high floor due to his speed and accuracy on the run. He should give defensive coordinators fits from day-1 so long as he doesn't end up with an inept coaching staff. One thing we have going for us is Dabs. He's proven he can get the most out of multiple QBs. If Daniels is there at #6 I'd be shocked if he wasn't the pick.
That said, his game isn't perfect. He needs to prove he can consistently make throws into tight windows, particularly across the middle of the field. He also needs to prove he's not a one read and run type QB. There are multiple examples of Daniels taking off with his legs when he had open receivers down the field. Is he not seeing the field properly or is he simply used to being the fastest guy on the field? Either way, run first QBs rarely work out in the NFL.
This leads into my biggest concern with Daniels which is his propensity to take big hits. If he doesn't learn how to slide or throw the ball away he will not last a single season in the NFL. He doesn't have the body to absorb hits like a Josh Allen and it appears he doesn't have the instincts to avoid hits like a Lamar Jackson. He absolutely needs to get better at protecting his body.

Based on what you’re describing beginning with your 2nd paragraph, I think you accidentally added an S on the end of his name.

Jonathan Casillas said on a NYG podcast with John Schmeelk that he put a 5 pound weight in his pants before getting weighed in at his Pro Day to be heavier.
They also said that some teams shorten the 40 distance to 37-39 yards so there plays clock faster 40 times on Pro Days.
That helps explain why some players skip the combine and only do Pro Days..you can script the drills and submit bogus measurables.
