I wanted to stop watching this video at the 2.27 Mark because my decision was already made up.
I like J.J. McCarthy a lot better for the Giants. If the Giants trade up and draft Drake Maye and he is a disappointment while J.J. McCarthy is Shining, I will have no problem punishing the Giants draft decisions through both QBs career. The Giants better get this pick right, or heads may end up rolling if Drake is another Daniel.
JJ is going to blow Maye out of the water in his career IMO. People talk about Maye’s arm strength. McCarthy had the second strongest arm strength at the combine 61 mph Joe Milton was first 62 mph. Drake May looks like Superman until he’s under pressure then he looks like Bat Girl. JJ 68% completion percentage under pressure. JJ can move out of the pocket and throw on the run. Drake Maye May shit his pants when he’s on the run in the NFL JJ 27-1 beating the likes of Ohio State - Penn State - Alabama - Washington. No losses Maye beat which top dog teams while losing to the likes of Virginia - West Virginia - NC State - Georgia Tech last season? Last season Maye 3608 yards in a passing offense. JJ 2991 in a running offense. Maye 24 Touchdowns JJ 22 Maye 9 Interceptions JJ 4 ( 3 in one game 1 total in the other 14 ) Maye QB rating 79.3 JJ 88.2 The choice is clear. If someone prefers Maye so be it I just hope it’s not the freaking Giants.

I think the risk of injury has kept him down. Or maybe just his injury history. No question. But that's a real concern. Tore the same knee twice. Ojulari dropped a round based on a High School injury. There are other concerns. He struggles in short range throws, which are the most important throws in the NFL. haven’t watched him enough b/c those games out west are like a track meet. He does throw a lot of mid-range passes yet the YAC is forever.

What I'm saying is if the Giants trade up for a better chance to draft J.J. McCarthy but decided to draft Drake Maye instead, they better be right because if J.J. McCarthy end up being the better QB while Drake is looking like Daniel Jones, then the Giants might wish I was a Vikings fans instead of a Giants fan. LOL.

I always respect your opinions and usually agree with you, let’s just hope if we draft him then I’m wrong and I’ll be more than happy to admit it. I have always said I do think Schoen has a crush on him and if we were picking higher then Maye would most likely be the QB he goes for, I’m just not sure how much he’s willing to give up. for me (and i love JJ) the only QBs I would trade up and give up, basically, any draft capital is Caleb Williams + Drake Maye. I believe in them as prospects. After finishing with the #6 pick, I had given up possibility of drafting Maye/Caleb. I thought he was a #2 lock. Thank god for Washington! I like this gamble if they take it. They massively scored with Allen and Maye is comically the same, if not much more refined, coming out. With our roster and our lack of picks, I'd prefer not to trade up for anybody. That said, I agree Maye and Caleb are the only two with the traits worth trading up for.

In 2005, that pick turned out to be pick 144. It was traded 4x before the Rams decided to use it on Jerome Collins, TE from Notre Dame. 2 picks later, the Eagles drafted Trent Cole. In 2004, our 5th rounder was Gibril Wilson, an underrated safety. Was a big fan of Wilson. Very underrated, indeed.

Lots of comical takes regarding Maye. With our roster and lack of picks I hope stay put at #6 or trade down, but Maye is one of two QBs with the traits worth trading up for.

Stop. I will immediately create the "Fire Joe Schoen" thread like I did in 2018 for Dave Gettleman. Maye is the most unexciting, inconsistent QB of the bunch. Might as well just keep rolling with Daniel Jones. This is a lazy take. Let's see some nuance. The only thing Daniel Jones and Maye have in similarities is that they're big tall and white. and both Jones and maye remind me of Eli in certain ways

Haha wait, So Daniels and Mccarthy have bigger arms? which games did you watch to get this assessment? I've never seen a fan base more clueless about QBs than the Giants fan base. Specifically, In terms of Arm Strength: 1. Maye 2. JJ 3. Daniel Jones 4. Jayden Daniels Instead of trying to get hot takes. Try watching... maybe even 1 tape per prospect. You clearly haven't. You can watch one game of Maye's versus the rest that he's got a much stronger arm, only JJ comes close. Daniels has such little drive i find it hard to believe you've watched a second of tape, so why are you so intense? If you hate Maye as a prospect, you also hated Josh Allen. Cool. I think the was a cool post too but I would rate Jones arm strength ahead of JJ from what I can tell. But what do I know I'm not tracking velocity I'm just watching games

I just don't respond to morons firing off at the finger tips like tough guys who aren't even right. So, cool was my choice of words. JJ McCarthy threw a football 61mph at the combine (which completely shocked me). It's a great measure for pure arm strength. Who had the hardest throw? Not Drake Maye. Joe Milton III who has the strongest arm in this class. He can also throw a ball 75 yards in the air. He threw a ball 62MPH which ties the combine record by who? Josh Allen... Maye has a strong arm though like I said. So does Daniels.

If Schoen trades up for a QB,it's a desperation move to save his ass. He's admitting this roster sucks and won't win in 2024...just trying to sell hopium to Mara for 2025. Giving up 2025 picks will screw this organization, unless we get the next Allen, Burrow, or Mahomes.

Good teams don't have this conversation. They plug in a 2nd round, 5th, round 7th, a so called bust in Alex Smith, and continue to win. We have debates surrounding trading up for a QB with high-school level mechanics because of potential upside. The Jets are known for drafting QBs in the to 10 every few years and continue to lose but they aren't even that reckless. Count me out. Would rather roll with Lock if needed. Let's hope Mara finally got his head out of his ass and this is true. DJ needs to go...but this roster sucks too bad to give up multiple picks, especially 2025 picks.

Maye - 301 py/g, 2 ptd/g JJ - 199 py/g, 1.47 ptd/g Rushing stats (3 more games for JJ)... Maye - 449 and 9 TDs JJ - 202 and 3 TDs I also think using velocity when a dude is crow hopping in shorts is silly.

JJ is a good prospect in his own right and deserves credit for climbing up ladder just have to remember he had an NFL QB for a coach hellacious running game to support him and good enough WRs that could catch and win.

Drake Maye looks nervous in the service when he is under pressure. JJ is cool calm and collected. Drake shined in the ACC - JJ shined in the Big 10. Huge difference. We all have opinions - they both should be successful. I just prefer JJ better overall. I’ve watched them both - JJ looks more impressive to my eye but maybe I need to re evaluate my glasses prescription 🤷♂️. Thanks for your respectful response. You made some good points.

The Giants use all of these journalists to put out misinformation. Every team does. You cannot believe a single thing that these guys “are hearing.” Id love to think that, but I remember the chatter about DJ after the senior bowl, then a few days leading up to the draft was all about linking DJ to the Giants. A lot of people were saying it was smoke as well. Hopefully the new regime has changed this, but last year we had that WR run right before our pick and the word was we loved a couple of them (Addison and Flowers) which is why we didnt move up since there was 4 WRs left. It worked out I guess since we landed Banks though. I like Banks. Its funny this year we seem to have a NEED for a QB and WR, and those are probably the 5 picks going ahead of us.

There’s absolutely no doubt in my mind that if JS went to Mara and said we have to move heaven and earth for this QB, Mara would support it.
The bigger question is will JS move heaven and earth to get to #3? I really really doubt it.
He’s building to 25’. That’s his decision year. He has other holes. How great can that rookie QB play to make up for those holes? I’m sure NE isn’t moving down for less than 2 years worth of 1sts and 2nds, and I think they’ll want more than that (I would, 4 picks isn’t enough). How many rookie QBs play to a level that covers up that lack of roster rejuvenation?
I know there’s a popular opinion that if JS drafts a QB he automatically gets an extension to develop him. I don’t see that at all.
JS should be calling the Pats regularly to see if they’re price changes, including when they’re on the clock.
The fact you’re calling means very little, other than you’re doing your job as GM.

LOL, I am trying to figure out what is going on here??? My video was replied to multiple times in this thread. Maybe I replied to someone who I thought was replying to me. Trust me, there is only one NYKiller, and if a Mod or Admin can look it up, then please do so. The reason why I want the Giants to draft a quarterback/J.J. over a WR is because a good QB can change the direction of a losing team quickly. There is a reason why elite QBs are always in the Superbowl and why they keep winning MVPs over WR!!!

Also what some fans seem to be forgetting is that there's another party in this trade discussion that's incentivized to leak such information, that's the New England Patriots. It's in the interest of the Patriots to let the rest of the league know that the Giants have inquired about trading with them, so they can drive up the price for any team that would want their pick. The Giants inquiring about trading up for the #3 overall pick won't be because they want to snatch Marvin Harrison Jr, it's obviously for one of the QBs and there's now multiple reports stating that Giants have done extensive research on the QBs and have reached out to the teams ahead of them for a potential trade.

If the Giants trade up for Drake Maye I'll trust their decision until it proves itself one way or another. I do fear Maye could not only be a DJ but a Mack Jones as well who is worse than DJ . Apparently so does N.E. They have signaled that N.E. is open for business. From the 6th pick to the 3rd pick is within reach without giving up the farm. NE. still gets a top stud player at #6 and they might not want to pick as far back as #11 from #3 even for a handful of top picks. Dropping those 8 picks they miss an awful lot of real good players JJ Franchise is so close, yet so far.....
