The writer was suggesting a possible trade to the Giants next year, not this year.
And ew, Cousins, no.

Giants have no money. Impossible trade, unless the Falcons decide to take Dan Jones off our hands and Waller retires

I'm not a huge fan of Cousins to begin with, and talk about an unwieldy contract...Just say no!!! That idea is almost as bad as the one that I read linking us to Bill B and Dak in 2025...

That answer for me will be determined after the 24 season and shit heck, maybe games into this year lol especially if the O line looks damn good or at least average and WR's are open, ect. I might rather have cousins overall for a bridge......

Unless we’re Carolina/Washington bad, the next QB is going to be an imperfect veteran.
Fans shit on Dak, Kirk, and QBs in that class of “experienced with flaws”.
But it’s going to be, by far, the most likely scenario of Jones’ successor without utter W/L collapse.

But it’s going to be, by far, the most likely scenario of Jones’ successor without utter W/L collapse. Most likely correct here. Dak I think is the only QB that will hit free agency after the season. He will be severely overpaid by whoever signs him. So trade may be their best option and I have no guesses right now on who that might be. If we have another top 5 pick next year, the chances are good that there will be a different head coach for the Giants and there might even be a different GM. I don't see a scenario where Jones will be a Giant in 2025. His cap hit is too high for the type of QB he is and he has zero incentive to renegotiate as there will be a better deal on the open market for him. Unless he has a crap season, and the renegotiation will not be entertained by the Giants anyway in that case. So as of right now, the Giants have no QB on the 2025 roster. However they find a starter will cost a lot of money, a lot of draft picks or both. I can't criticize them for going Nabers over the remaining QBs. I would have done the same, did not love any of these QBs this year outside of Williams. That said, I have no idea what the plan at QB for 2025 is, but I'm sure they have one. I'd love to know what it is.
