First game of the year. With a team like this my personal opinion is it has to finish the season strong, i'm not as concerned about the first part of the year regardless of what the schedule looks like. But given the fan-traumatic way they started last year they need to have strong game today to take the temperature down for them. This is a young team, it will have a tendency to play emotionally, up and down. But that aside, let's just make it to game 2 with all our starters please. This team isn't good enough to overcome injuries to basically anywhere on the o line, d line. Wait, are you telling me you weren’t impressed by that good ‘22 playoff team who finished the final 10 games of the regular season 3-7?

Looking forward to it but I’m not judging anything off one game, especially against the Vikings, unless it’s an old skool ass whooping one way or the other. Hoping to see some good solid football, win or lose. I predict ALOT of hot takes after this game. Whichever way it goes. Got a bunch of rookies starting, an OL in it's first snaps together. Mistakes are going to be made. Hot takes or not, we still suck until we prove we do not. As usual, if we go with low expectations, we may not be very disappointed.

Wow, not a lot of optimism here! Optimism is pretty scarce when you've been awful for the most part of 12 years lol. I'm moderately excited about our opening game. I would put it at a 5 on a 1 to 10 scale.

4 years, $240M, $231. guarenteed!!! Note to self: In my next lifetime, try and be a professional football player. Why do you need to take all that beating and not be able to enjoy all that money because of a broken body? Baseball is better, maybe a little less money, but much less physical abuse. You cannot get hurt by just scratching your nuts and spitting.

Vikings are actually a pretty solid team. Darnold is not a particularly good QB, but he has some excellent skill players on that side of the ball, and their D played much better last year, then 2 years ago. That being said, Go Blue!!! (I don't even care if we screw up our draft position with a win...)

Wait, are you telling me you weren’t impressed by that good ‘22 playoff team who finished the final 10 games of the regular season 3-7? That's the difference between year 1 and year 3. Year 1, 9 wins was bigger deal than basically crawling on your hands and knees across the finish line. But you finish the second half of year 3 with .500 or losing record, you probably need an absolute miracle year to avoid changes at the end of your contract. Mara won't fire anyone before the end of year 4 from this group, he wants to keep them, he's not itching for a change (he'd find evidence for one if he wanted to). They're one get-out-of-jail-free card for a poor W/L is if the o line is actually good, meaning not just average. If its actually good, i bet Mara is so relieved he'll look the other way on a bunch of other stuff. Also, if the o line is actually good, they'll probably piece together enough wins and finish strong anyway.

Wow, not a lot of optimism here! Its because alot of the regulars on here are old AF. Being surprisingly young compared to the regulars on this board (51), its not hard for me to start the year and feel like parts of this team will outperform expectations. If i want to be miserable 24/7, i can pay attention to politics, the economy, or the Giants by week 5. But 10 mins before the start of the Giants season? I'm all green lights.

Im by nature an optimistic person. That said today holds a ton of weight for me. Jones should have confidence vs this opposing team. If they blitz steal first downs with your legs or dump off to Motor Singletary. Set the damn tone for the season at home.

I got an offer to be a moderator on the old sight, something about Canadians not losing their cool easily ( ), but i turned it down because my son was going be born about 6 months later. I had been on the boards for 3-4 before that. He's 16 today. So until i read your post, i hadn't done the math. Its absolutely wild. As a guy who works hard and spends the rest of his time with his family, i don't have alot of free time for a social life. I'm more familiar with guys on here that have been posting for 20 years (like you) than i am with buddies from college or whatever. Just nuts.

1st poor decision...the fist pump with a drink in your hand Thank you Aris I find myself in a strange space the start of the NFL is like Christmas on steroids for me this year I have lost that some where lol but a little football laugh adds a little. Time to win some football games! Hoping Jones becomes the best game manager in the league ….although I’m thinking we want to go vertical without the Favre type arm and mentality slinging the new system…expecting the Favre picks without the holy shit laser show.
