Klint Kubiak is the Saints OC this season and look what he has done to the normally staid Saint offense in his first season…..hire him to replace the ineffective Daboll and you have a smart HC and a great offensive mind…hire someone from the Steeler, Rams or Eagle Management office to replace Schoen.

Problem is, you aren't bringing him here to be the OC, it's to be the HC.
The same thing was said about Daboll. He did great things in Buffalo.
I wanted Jim Harbaugh so bad. Look what he is doing with the Chargers now.

The lottery number we've been playing isn't winning us anything, lets switch the lottery number because that will improve our odds.........math peeps should be able to spot the faulty logic there.
I don't know if Daboll is a good head coach. More importantly, I don't know if Daboll can change or improve as a head coach, or is he a "take me or leave me" kinda leader.
But whoever our next head coach is, its shouldn't be a guess based on the same tired formula of raiding a successful team's coaching staff for some coordinator who's been deemed "ready".
Both TEM and Analyst nailed my opinion. Firing our rookie HC to hire a rookie HC seems like the definition of insanity. Our next HC should be someone our GM has done a massive amount of research on, for more than the Oct-Jan timeframe, and it should probably be an experienced HC, or someone who is going to align with how the team has been built over the last 3 years.
The assumption that what works is tearing something down and rebuilding it every 2-3 years until you get it right is part of the problem. Good organizations don't just "guess" at these things.

Here’s numero uno….the Mara’s don’t seem to understand coaches and/or GMs. If they do, why have they been terrible at selecting them?
McAdoo Judge Daboll
Reese DG (outlier) Schoen
Most of their hires have had ZERO prior experience. The two better hires were Accorsi and Coughlin. They weren’t perfect, but better than what’s been here. If the Mara’s don’t understand things, they’re gonna have to go and hire people with track records. People that were successful at their job previously.

The Giants don't win those Superbowls without Reese. This is the only fan base I can think of that considers a two time champion general manager a bad hire. Accorsi is a deity to Giants fans. He was a miserable drafter before Reese started working for him as a scout. Reese never gets any credit for the 07 roster from Giants fans even though he worked as a scout.

That's when you become the Browns of a few years ago. Yep. And for clarity, this isn’t an argument against starting over. Sometimes that’s the right choice. But what I see on the boards and what I interpret in the NFL is ownership in particular is they just change stuff because the old stuff wasn’t working. Why wasn’t it working? Is it the guy making decisions? Do you need better scouting department (how soon after you hire a new scout can you say “that was a good hire?” It’s not before 2 years, that’s for sure) ? Is it coaching? What SPECIFICALLY is it about coaching that isn’t working? Can you coach your coach? Why do we assume that HCs pop out of the ground fully formed and if they don’t they never will be? I’m always putting caveats in posts like this: this isn’t a “change is bad” opinion. I’m saying if you can’t very very specifically identify what is wrong, then how do you know what to look for as a fix? I think the football world has dedicated billions of dollars to predict success in players. I get a sense that the same football world hires coaches and GMs doing calculations on the back of a napkin, or depends on a 2 hour interview to be “inspired to hire”.

Yeah, let's hire another no experience HC. Oh, I see, hire some HC retread that has been canned for being incompetent……that will work well. If Mara had any brains he would not have hired Judge, or thin skinned Daboll, or the other retreads that only a moron would hire. Mara should hire someone like Bill Polian to interview and choose the new GM.

I give both our GM and Coach D another year…probably 2 if they draft a QB. There is not one thing surprising this year regarding win and losses from every football fan and Vegas…not including the Giant fan base who were basing this season on hope and a prayer, and now expecting some sort of Jones breakout or a dominating defense with our overrated DL. We are a 6 to 7 win team this year….with Harbaugh …..or Daboll.

Or the Pats hired Bellichek after he sucked in Cleveland. Or for that matter, Tom Coughlin.

Kubiak is doing great in N.O. Listen Kubiak's kid is going to be sought after by a number of teams. But he needs a good to decent QB to make his offense work. Quick reads get the ball out fast. Same as the Dad.
I don't know who is coming here but I wouldn't mind one of these young offensive guru's. but they need a QB to be successful. And there is no college phenom QB this year coming out. Just to draft the best QB that's not good enough to make it in pro's is a death sentence for both the HC and the QB. Look what happened to Carolina.
I also was thinking Kubiak he's made Derek Carr look like Mahomes well for 2 games lol. But for whatever it's worth it's working.

Because JH runs the ball everywhere he was/is. Indy, Michigan, and now LAC. He took his brothers 2 RB's from last year and his old OC and let the run game begin. We would look a lot different. Run the ball to death offense and a strong tough defense. Sounds a lot better than what has shown up this year for us.

I think the only thing that will put Daboll's job in jeopardy is if Mara wants Belichick. I do not think Shoen was sold on Jones at all. Mara inked that bad deal so I think Shoen is going to be here at least another year. I think there is a high probability that Mara drops Daboll and brings in Belichick.

I haven’t gotten a sense that Mara is instructing Schoen to sign Jones or hire/fire a coach. He can render an opinion (like he did with SB), but I don’t think he’s pulling Schoen into his office and saying “fire Daboll”. Frankly, he shouldn’t. Because how are you suppose to evaluate Schoen if he’s not the one making the decisions? Now. I ABSOLUTELY think Mara was very supportive of signing DJ, the same way he was disappointed in seeing SB walk. So he’ll have biases regarding the moves made. But I’ve seen no evidence that would suggest that Schoen is taking instructions from his owner on who to sign and who to let walk.

Played ok over their first two games. if you have a nice core you keep them and keep rotating the stock. Yet if you don’t have that core, you keep rotating everybody. To a fault. I also wanted Ron Rivera over Judge. I also wanted Jim Cowher forever. Belichick.... well, Im not so sure about him as a HC anymore. His primetime days have passed, but I dont think it would be a terrible option. He is obviously still plugged in. I think you underrate Harbaugh. If we hired him instead of Dabs, we might already be a much better team. Im fairly certain Jim would have had a backup kicker last game on the roster.

Shhh all the goober ball mouth breather cry babies are going to come out of the woodwork. I am with this philosophy. Always have been and always will be. 3 of the Giants 4 Super Bowl wins were predicated off the ability to dominantly run the ball and play exceptional defense. The Super Bowl appearance where they lost was also in that category 95% of the time that season. The majority if not all of our early exit playoff years also fall into this category/style. Super Bowl 46 season was an exception. Eli had to be super human to get them to and win Super Bowl 46 and that was honestly above and beyond who he truly was as a QB and unrealistic unless your name is Montana, Brady or Mahomes.

www.pro-football-reference.com/executives/ReesJe0.htmFor those that think Reese was good. He had a declining record for his final 8 years (besides 1 outlier season). Name another good GM that gave their team less wins for 8 seasons in a row. Reese was given a solid team…had one good early draft…and had a few early decent years with those teams. After that..:he was trash. If you can only be good for a couple years while you were handed a solid team…you aren’t good.
