Looking back on it now, it was more a case of extremely bad attempts at tackling by the 9ers than anything special Bavaro did. They all tried to tackle him high while he kept his legs moving. Had any 9er hit him low from the get go, he goes down after a 10yd gain.

Hard not to watch that and remember when.....................,awesome the whole team was just great! One of my favorites was when Reasons took the fake punt and stunned the 9ers, knew the game was ours after that play.

I know exactly where I was when I watched that play on TV. How about everyone else? My parents house 15 years old on the living room rug with a pillow under my head, my dog laying next to me, my Dad on the couch drinking a martini, my mother in the kitchen making sauce. No idea where my sisters were.

There would have been 4 leading with your helmet flags on the play in todays game.

I know exactly where I was when I watched that play on TV. How about everyone else? My Buddy's house....hungover from a rough night before. He was a Raider fan and was in a foul mood for that second game...to say the least....

Had any 9er hit him low from the get go, he goes down after a 10yd gain. But, they didn't, did they? If, If, If. On almost any great run, or catch and run, there are poor or missed tackles. So, you can look back on it now, 33 years later, and minimize it all you want in your own mind... it doesn't change what happened in real time.

I believe that one play was a snap shot of Bavaro's career. A big tough son of a gun. how could you not love him as a Giant fan. He is just a great example of that team how tough it was offense and defense.

I believe that one play was a snap shot of Bavaro's career. A big tough son of a gun. how could you not love him as a Giant fan. He is just a great example of that team how tough it was offense and defense. That season he broke his jaw in the first half of the Saints game, got it wired up, and came back and played the 2nd half. I don’t know what is more extreme than tough, but whatever it is that is Bavaro. A straight beast. I don’t know why anyone would want to even attempt to minimize that play. Watch America’s game about that 86 team and hear Parcells and LT talk about it, called it essentially as important and motivating as any individual play in that entire season.
