Now that everyone on the DL & OL is aquanited with each other, I am sure Coach Shurmur will privately mention to each player the fighting stops now. Maybe they want it like it was in North Dallas Forty... "Oh yeah....they're gunna ream Chicago".........

Can you imagine taking Eli as the QB - "Seth" and OBJ as "Elliot" (younger version) and MacAdoo as Coach Strother instant classic...

You sound disappointed. Snacks was a team captain type player gotta stop this shit. Hernandez is going overboard tryin to prove that he’s tough and nasty. Save it for the opponents kid. Yeah, great team captain that Snacks. The defense fell apart under his "leadership" last year, he was one of the only no-shows for OTA's under a new coach, and swings a helmet at a rookie we are counting on. smh

I really don't have an opinion one way or the other. generally I agree that rooks got to earn it. They should probably chill until then. Having said that, I have no idea what happened here. Exactly. Nobody knows what happened except the people who were there.

You might want to take a breath because this IS the NFL, and key players are going to get hurt. It happens on every team. We wouldn't want to lose you. But right on the heels of many being so enthused about these unnecessary scuffles. Grittiness is fine, but they need to practice discipline also. great point want to be physical but have stay in control, over the last 5 or so years the giants have seen what personal fouls and suspensions do to a team, like that profile pick is an epic one.

Maybe it had something to do with Snacks saying he wanted to hit Barkley's ass. that would be a first time in a long time a giants olinemen who would take that as an insult and actually do something about it,still have to be smart about it tho.

Has Snacks ever been a team captain? Correct me if I'm wrong but don't believe he has. In the past he has certainly led by example, but I'm not sure leadership off the field is a strength of his. The only D captain of last two years is not on the team anymore (Casillas). Promising though, is that Alec Ogletree was voted a team captain by fellow players on the Rams at a young age.

Not questioning your thought here but its seems to assume that the rook is at fault and provoked the whole thing ? just wondering scoostraw maybe it will come out as to what took place ... it takes two to tango whatever the case hopfully it all works itself out .... Maybe Snacks mentioned something about building the wall. LMFAO this is f'ing awesome.

I wonder what is going on with Snacks. Maybe he wasnt happy with the whole McAdoo situation? I remember him defending McAdoo and making excuses - something to the effect of he had too much success early (1st year) and that none of what happened last year was MAC's fault. Were they friends off the field?
It seems Snacks hasnt bought into the the new coaching staff / program..... Why would he talk smack about our rooks? They all seem like they are of really good character and I don't blame Will for fighting back.

As far as Snacks being a Captain last year, he wasnt....
he turned the captain role down because he said he knew many of his teammates weren't "all in" and he couldn't agree to leading a group of guys whose hearts werent into it....

Football is a violent game. Now, what Snacks did - swinging a helmet - crosses a line. The entire OL should have beat his ass. You wanna fight you don’t use weapons. Push, punch, whatever. No weapons, no kicking or other baloney

Aggressiveness is good, but we don't want that to translate to personal fouls.

During the fight, Hernandez' helmet came off while he was on the ground and Harrison violently swung it in the direction of his head just before the rookie popped to his feet and started throwing violent haymakers in retaliation.
That’s a bitch move by Snacks. Good for Hernandez for fighting back. You don’t swing a helmet or use a weapon of any kind. Fight like a man.Constantly for no apparent reason over nothing of consequence?

regardless, he's pretty badass if he's willing to go toe to toe with Snacks!! Pretty much any guard in the NFL should be willing to go toe to toe with Snacks, otherwise, WTH are they doing in the NFL? Nobody is going to start asking them to kick field goals. Doesn't make him badass, it makes him meet the minimum requirement.

Snacks seems like a real d-bag, I saw an interview the other day where he said he wanted to light up Barkley in practice. What's this guy's problem? He's got a hardon for injuring his teammates? For a team where guys get hurt every time the wind blows a little too strongly that's just what we need is this out of control nut trying to hurt people in OTAs. I cannot imagine that would be particularly comfortable in his cup.

So he wouldn't lead a bunch of guys in need of leadership, but if they don't need it he'd welcome the role? As I said, these guys get hit on the head a lot.

Is Flowers’ experience necessarily a good thing? I think it's similar to the experience of some folks I work with. They'll be happy to remind you constantly that they have 20 years of experience doing it. But it really looks more like they have 1 year of experience that they've just repeated 20 times.

You have to wonder what he did to cause a veteran like Harrison to react like that. Hernandez is known for talking a lot of shit and playing pass the whistle.

I see it the other way. Snacks is an absolute competitor. He wants a tough Oline for a change. Im sure he is probing to see what the kid is made of. ....Will has been surviving all of his life. He is not about to back down. I think its good either way. Just dont get someone hurt fellas.

Snacks is the man. He is the Junkyard Dog and is laying it out there for the rooks. These rookies have to be successful this year for the team to be competitive. The rookies are going to be faced with adversities from opposing defenses throughout the year. Snacks is pushing their buttons to get their best. This is a non issue.

I have not read anything that said he plays past the whistle . As far as talking all S*** all players do. Snacks ran his mouth in front of the media. Him and Collins both to keep that stuff inhouse. If you have some supporting evidence that I could not find. I would like to read it.

Now Snacks would have been ejected from the game and face a suspension... that would hurt the team. He is a Pro and needs to act like one...
