"They need to be better than they were offensively last year." Scintillating commentary.

well the Giants issues were obvious so what else can he say. Well I'm sure Bronx would've been ecstatic if Art said something like "The Giants now have some huge obstacles to overcome considering they made the worst mistake in the history of the NFL by not taking a QB at #2 and settling for a measly running back who will probably be a bust and have a 2 year career at most...."

This isn't rocket science. The O line brought this team to it's knee's last season and the warning signs were there the year before. The defense carried them into the playoffs against the Packers and that should have alerted Reese and company that a problem was on the horizon regarding the offense. But no, they went right into last season with the same pathetic line and the defense wasn't up to the task of bailing out the offense again. Injuries also struck again.
DG did the obvious by bringing in some new players on the O line, and I believe Eli will have more than 2 seconds to get rid of the ball, and the running backs won't be asked to run behind a brick wall. This alone will improve the offense overall. My biggest concern is the defense. The corners and LB's are going to have step up or it will be the offense winning games this year. DG did all he could in one offseason. My only gripe was letting Cockrell walk. That wasn't smart.

You are correct, the line has been a problem since the 2011 SB, but I think drafting Pugh, Richberg and Flowers gave some us fans a false sense that things could improve. Some say Reese ignored the line. That's not true. He drafted/signed players who didn't fit what the Giants traditionally looked for in an O lineman. That's not ignoring. That's incompetence. They weren't nasty. They weren't tough. They were average at best. He didn't know how to build an offensive line. As for the defense, I have never been a fan of switching to a new scheme, when you don't necessarily have the pieces to support that scheme. However, they could surprise everyone. I'm hoping they do.

The Record does not allow me to read their articles. Yeah, they have this thing where you can only read 10 articles a month then you have to pay. The joke's on them because all you have to do is clear out your cookies. I won't post the links anymore; it's all been said already.

Agree 100% on the Reese deal think he was a good assistant but once he got in the drivers seat it was to big for him, think they knew they had a lot to do as far as getting the cap and the talent at LB and corner in order and the pass rush so maybe this was the best time to start from scratch, on that side of the ball plus snacks has some experience in this scheme, agree all we have is hope right now most of us realistic fans knew this was a couple of years at least to get the roster and cap turned heading in the right direction.

"They need to be better than they were offensively last year." Scintillating commentary. Good, but he isnt saying anything that isnt blatantly obvious to any knowledgeable fan. 1) We have a lot of weapons in skill postitions 2) The OL is the question mark 3) McAdoos offense stunk

With SB in the backfield, this OL just has to be just 25% better than the OL of the past 5 yrs & we should be a much improved team in the running the ball dept. IMO, if the O can avg 125+ypg this yr, that should be good enough for a playoff spot as most teams that can avg 125+ypg make the playoffs. Lat yr, 9 of the top 10 run teams made it to the dance. You figure 125yds on the ground plus another 250+ thru the air & you should be moving the ball , eating up clock & putting up pts if you're getting 400yds+ per game from the O. Now if the OL is 50% better than last yr's, watch out!
