Everyone here knows I've defended Gettleman more than anyone, but losses like this change everything and get people fired. Barring a miracle, Gettleman is as good as gone after this season and it might not end with him.

Keep on being happy with your 3-4-5 win seasons... T You ASSume much. Nevermind... Us clear thinking ones were saying this year was going to be like this because of the extenuating circumstances.... Its why I'm not breaking things right now I don't think they get what Dexter Lawrence does or WIlliams or DT if they don't know they need to go buy a football book

This team is awful from head to toe.
DG has us thinking 2023 now until maybe we are relevant.

It might be. Lets see if they got it right.... Im weary of a WRs coach from NE. I hate NE retreads but normmaly as coordinators. This guy apparently was a candidate for the Mississippi St job. I still hope Im wrong here but Judge did not have his team prepared for this game at all. In fact, Im not sure they even knew they were playing. Come on Judge, prove me wrong... Here we are late December and its the same thing...

Any truth to this. Anyone heard anything?
Beat writer on CBS Sports website Jason La Canfora posted this an hour ago:
"Change coming for Giants? There are plenty of execs around the NFL who believe Dave Gettleman will either retire or assume a different role with the Giants in the coming days. Nothing official and all subject to change. But him being out of the GM spot would not be a surprise to many of his peers at this point.
If Gettleman is out of the GM role, longtime Patriots executive Nick Caserio might slide right in."

I haven't heard anything, but wouldn't surprise me if DG retires or takes on another role due to health reasons. Does anyone know anything about Caserio? Yay or nay?

How long ago was he with NE? No clue. I just googled his name, and it looks like the Panthers have requested to interview him.

And now we lost our best OLineman and a key DLman going onto 2021 because of his awful cap management.
Tomlinson for 2/22? I thought he would get more than that. Thats a no brainer.
Enjoy another losing season folks.
Maybe he needs a 5th year to show us how he can turn this team around...

Reading this thread is entertaining. Amateurs amuse me.
its like watching a bunch of 6-year olds trading football cards....no idea what they are talking about, and inane reasons what certain cards are worth.

Free agency hasn't even officially started and people are already crying. This is Gettlemans 4th FA period here. His W-L record speaks for itself after 4 years. We are up against the cap with a bad team. That shouldnt happen while rebuilding. He is going to pay LW 2x as much as Tomlinson just got. His first moves were to sign a depth DT and a depth RB, after cutting his top OLineman. Now, a huge part of the DLine which was the strength last year, just left to Minnesota, on a very reasonable deal. Id even say a steal. Letting LW walk is probably the best option now, instead of paying him a boat load for decreased production.

I just wish Gettleman/FO was more forward thinking. Did anything change cap wise or contract wise from the middle of the season to this point? I dont believe so, maybe just that the cap floor was originally supposed to be 175 and settled at 182.
This front office had to have known it would be tough to find key players in FA and keep Tomlinson, Williams and Lawrence together. Why not trade DT, get something in return for him if you knew signing DT was second priority to LW?
You could have seen if BJ Hill or Austin Johnson were good enough for extended roles, McIntosh?
Not only did they lose a homegrown, defensive captain and a quality person in the locker room, they didnt even do anything to address a need.
I give DG a break on a lot but at this point, they shouldnt be where they are.

He was going to try to win games, not sell off a season that could have been his last. Its why he traded for LW in the first place while being a bad team. This rebuild of his never got off the ground, and Im thinking after this season it will be reset again.

Free agency hasn't even officially started and people are already crying. You'll get use to it. I have the sit back and wait approach considering there is nothing I , you or anyone else can do about it . I liked Delvin I wanted him to stay but maybe he didn't want to stay here ,who knows ? I have to believe the people who run the Organization know more than us bystanders who don't know all that is entailed in these things. I admit I don't understand the thinking here but it's a complete effort what ever the plain is, meaning Owners.GM and HC are all complicit in equal parts in it.True. No one operates in a vacuum in the NFL.

Balls in a vice. Awful GM. I remember when some here were claiming Williams didnt have the leverage in getting the deal done. We should have resigned Tomlinson and let Williams go. Then with the extra cash go after a WR or OLineman.

We are the worst team in the NFL during DGs tenure here, and it isnt changing in year 4.
Hopefully Mara takes his head out of his ass and finally fires the guy.

Was presented of all the moves how to maintain the DL and sign WR yet somehow the limited flexibility for 21 was on the backburner.

I use to stick up for dave and said it was to premature to really bash him.. That being said thats not the case anymore and to this point in the offseason the giants have only gotten worse, then you factor in this williams debacle... I can't and won't. IF they don't get Jones the necessary help this offseason, not only he, BUT JUDGE must answer for it.

It was obviously going to be a 3-4 year at shortest hiring, barring a complete catastrophic event. Its why we should have gotten a new GM with him. Judge doesn't even have HIS QB yet. I think he will be awarded that opportunity in 2022.

Why bc he has a huge say.. and this is an entire offseason of work, i'm not saying fire him if thats what you think I was implying, but if he goes into this year without majorily helping out Jones that's complete neglect. Fireable offense for gettlemen and just a bad mark for Judge, however, I don't think Judge is that stupid to allow that.

After 1 year, I certainly have some doubts about Judge's coaching ability as evident in my signature, but he is here for a few more years. He will get his QB and have a shot at being a successful HC. Or at least he should, but we are the Giants so who knows...
