It kind of misses the point, like firing Gilbride, Coughlin w/o releasing Resse. We know the problem and all of this turnover of coaches and GMs masks the root cause of our dismal franchise. Fire every coach, clean out the FO, release every player from their contract. It doesn't solve the root cause of or dismal franchise.... Doesn't it? Wonderfully said. In fact firing DG gives the ownership a temporary reprieve from criticism, when the heat should be just as intense regardless of who they pick.

I have faith that at some point we will bounce back to being a respectable franchise. It may be a year from now, it may be 10. Have to hit the right GM and HC though. Is Judge the answer? I dont know yet, but it doesnt look good. Jones certainly isnt the answer IMO.

If the fan base “magically” supported judge despite his record, he’d be safe as a kitten this off-season. Fan pressure matters. It’s why Garrett got canned. So (IMHO) when fans get excited about the rearranging of the deck chairs, it’s a self fulfilling prophecy. The same mistakes keep getting made because there’s no pressure to change. And the mistake being made is not screaming for the Maras to step back. We can’t fire the owner, but we can pressure them to stay out of the room.

I have to believe that there is enough sentiment and fan pressure that Mara will finally realize he needs to go outside the organization and his normal channels/sources to hire the next GM. I mean he has to at some point....doesn't he?
Promoting Abrams is no better/different than keeping Gettleman. It will be really disheartening if that is what they do.

Don't worry, if he does hire Abrams, I'll start a "Fire Kevin Abrams" thread almost immediately. Hopefully we dig else where. Someone mentioned Baltimore which is a GREAT place to start

I am not the kind of guy that calls for firings, but I have no idea why he is still with this team. It is obvious that it did not work with him.

Mara and his entire FO are collasal failures. The fact that Gettlmen is still employed is ridiculous.

In the way back days it was just newspapers regarding current info but today you have instant news and social media to show ownership what the fans are feeling. They didn't have that quick fan reaction so yes I believe fan opinion does carry some weight today. But CDN your right about the band aid approach by firing just one person (doesn't matter who) and this is Mara's message to change when we all know its the entire SYSTEM that is failing. WIth out a system change you are subjected to luck. Luck of getting a GM and coach that can somehow weather the storm of a terrible system and yet still win in spite of it.

Only here do they accept this level of ineptitude.

The names of fall guys for this franchise read like the white pages. Firing Gettleman will have minimal impact. As long as the Maras are heavily involved, this team will be shit. Unfortunately, rich people are stubborn and don't like being told what to do. WE ARE ****ED

So let me guess they will call up Ernie and he, Dave, Chris, and John will get together to consult on the next GM hire who understands the Giants way.
It won’t be Abrams. They’ll keep him exactly where he is and force him on whoever the new GM is. He’s like John and Chris’ consigliere.

This was the best trade in Gettlemans terrible career as GM here. It was a great trade. Zeitler for Vernon. And then, he had to destroy it and make it bad again. Good job numb nuts.

Zeitler has helped hold whats left of their OL together. Him and Villeneuva. I wanted to somehow keep Zeitler and Tomlinson here so bad. They would have helped their respective lines so much. Hindsight being 20-20 the money would have better spent on Zeitler and Tomlinson than Goloday.
