The best 210lb. defensive end the NYG ever had.
What a bummer to me when they parted ways.

Didn't realize he was only 210, and I also forgot he shared Barvaro's jersey. He was a bit before my time.

Didn't realize he was only 210, and I also forgot he shared Barvaro's jersey. He was a bit before my time. They listed him heavier (235 on his card for example) but he was around 220 at the beginning of a season and around 210 towards the end.
How do I know this? I read it somewhere a long time ago.
He was very quick.
The average OL linemen were around 250-260 in those days with a few exceptions being heavier.

I remember fred, yes he was slim for a defensive end. Does anyone remember the tv detective series he played in Hunter?

Fred was a good player for us but was better after he went to the Rams. 89 and 56 were great jersey numbers for players years later.

I used to watch Hunter all the time.
Dryer was a West Coast boy so not a surprise he went to the Rams.

Fred Dryer was before my time. I grew up watching him on the TV show 'Hunter' and didn't realize until years later that he was a former Giant.

He also got the heck outta NY due to the fact that the Giants were a bottom of the pile organization at the time & he knew he was never gonna see a SB or even playoff game playing there. Told about the "fumble" vs Philly game, he laughed & said, "Doesn't surprise me one bit that it happened to the Giants".
