Ben Albright (who has proven to be a pretty dialed-in guy) is hearing that the Jets prefer Oliver at 3.
That could create a great situation for us where one of the following 3 guys would be sitting there for us at 6 - Quinnen, Allen or White.

Jets could go offense as weird as that sounds as well, especially if they cant trade back They desperately need a LT and a playmaker...not having a pick till day 3 after their number 3 pick puts them in a tough spot. And this is tbe Jets, they do Jets things, Jawon Taylor I can see..but wouldn't be a Jets thing for them to take Metcalf at 3 so Darnold can throw a bunch of 50%50 balls all game

The jets O-line is Putrid . I can see them taking an OT . To me it makes the most sense . Darnold can be easily be changed into David Carr by getting hit too much.

I like Oliver for the Giants at six but if it means Q.Williams may fall to us I am all for that

The risk of moving up for a qb with a badly incomplete team I never quite heard it put this way before. Risk? I believe I would always get a franchise QB of Darnold's ability vs. any other player.... when total team putrid is evident.

It's a huge risk when you move up and your team has zero talent around him on offense, needs on defense and you trade a bunch of picks that could be used to start building around him. Number 3 and number 67 is all they have for impact players on offense in a draft check full of front 7 players, which is why they desperately need to trade back to where value actually makes sense on offense, hell I could see them trading back with someone for a discount just to get their 2nd back they are that desperate. If they are stuck at 3 what do you do BPA (which would probably be Williams unless they legit like Oliver)and hope for a lot of mid round magic to adress the offense, when their history says they suck at drafting) Reach for offense (the BPA on offense other than qb could actually be Hockensen, but at 3?Taylor,still a bit of a reach but he probably starts at LT??Metcalf?)

The jets have bigger issues than d.. but if they're going BPA it make sense they'll go D seems like they have the right idea of moving back, but I don't think theres any takers to help them do that.. whatever they do if it means q.williams drops to us and we take him I'd be stoked.

Well, I sort of guess what you are saying...but turnover is so quick in the NFL that within 2 years, a teams needs have completely shifted. Having a franchise QB on a rookie deal is prime...the Jets might not have the picks this year, but with all that cap from not having to pay a QB 25-35 million per year, they can quickly, and I mean quickly, build a wall, get weapons and create a pass rush. They ran no risk IMHO trading up for Darnold...if they have their convictions he will be their 15 year starter and franchise. In a year or two, they will be playoffs if Darnold is that guy And on edit...I believe they should trade back and try and get your guy Hock...this would be the ideal landing spot, as would an offensive tackle as TEM suggested

I wouldn't be surprised that a minimum of 7 of the first 10 picks are defense. I only see Murray and Hockenson going in the top 10 myself. Maybe Jawon Taylor sneaks in there.

The risk of moving up for a qb with a badly incomplete team to be fair, they did sign Bell, and a decent WR (name is escaping me atm). The Jets haven't had a player of Bell's talent in quite some time.
