This is based upon nothing really, other than my own deductions, but here goes ....
I think that if one of the following players is available at 6, we will take him - Quinnen, Devin White or Josh Allen (assuming that Bosa and Murray have no chance of getting to 6). I think for that to happen, the Jets would have to: (1) trade their pick to a team looking to draft a QB; or (2) do something unexpected like draft Oliver at 3 (Ben Albright has heard that Oliver is who the Jets like at 3).
I think that if Bosa, Quinnen, White and Allen go in the top 5, a QB will be in play at 6 and I think that QB is Haskins. I think that all the noise about Haskins dropping is just a smokescreen. However, as much as it would make me throw up, there is definitely the possibility that Gettleman would take Daniel Jones here and push us further into NFL laughing stock status.
If we don't go QB at 6, I think that there is a good possibility that we: (1) trade up from 17 to get the QB; or (2) trade back into the bottom of the first to get the QB.
I guess that my last QB scenario is that we take a Grier or Stidham in the 2nd or 3rd round.
This is not what I would do, but what I think Gettleman would do. If it were me, and I didn't like a QB enough to draft at 6, I wouldn't take one in the first round at all. Wait until the 3rd or 4th and draft another lottery ticket guy (Clayton Thoreson?) and look toward next year's class.
