my question is why put yourself in this position in the first place? By hosting a party and having an unruly guest put out? Oh, that's right, this is Odell and no one else has ever had something like this happen before.

I've gotten on Odell's case PLENTY on here.........but not this time. This is a money grab. Nothing more.
He has done nothing that deserves any form of punishment by the team or league. The hotel room tape was pretty stupid, but they can't prove anything illegal or against league rules actually happened.
People are leeches and scumbags that will try to take advantage of someone rich and high profile with a mandated behavioral clause in his contract.
Anyone buying this nonsense is looking for a reason to hate.
Pay the man and let's get to work!!

Then it's even worse. Didn't that whole drugs on the bed thing happen only a few months ago? So that incident happened then this happened right after that? Also, even if this was reported months ago, it wasn't being reported by major news outlets like it is currently. I was saying every three months since that other stupid incident happened 3 months ago. Since this happened at the same time, it changes from every 3 months to a cluster of stupidity. At what point does the league step in and suspend him? I knew nothing was going to come of the last incident, but this one, and another. When is the league going to say enough.... Remember, the league doesn't care if a player is convicted in order to suspend.... Suspend him? Suspend him for what? I doubt it, but maybe this may put things in perspective. Pros: 1. Never arrested for drugs 2. Never arrested for carrying an illegal firearm 3. Never arrested for assault 4. Never arrested for domestic violence 5. Never arrested for anything. PERIOD! 6. Never suspended for a failed drug test 7. Never recorded his teams private locker room talk, including the head coach, and posting it on social media (Antonio Brown) 8. Not associated with gang members 9. Never shot himself in the leg and derailed his teams chance at another SB run 10. Never blew off his fingers playing with fireworks 11. Never accused of cheating in college 12. Never accused of rape 13. Never got into an on the field argument with his teammates and coaches (Antonio Brown) 14. Never caused any locker room issues 15. Teammates all speak highly of him. Cons: 1. Fight with Josh Norman on field (I will admit, he shouldn't have taken the bait and walked away) 2. Push sideline net and net pushed back (net gate) 3. Exchanged words with Rams and Bills players on the field. (The tragedy) 4. Seen in video with woman in what appeared to be a blunt and some other white substance (Probably the dumbest thing he's done) 5. Some guy trying to extort money from him, but no one with an ounce of sense believes this BS. 6. Going on a boat party on his day off. Other players relaxed at home, some did other things that day. but Odell committed treason. He returned on time and practiced with his teammates. (This isn't a con to me, but some are still losing their mind over this) 7. He dropped passes in the GB playoff game. (This has never happened to any WR in the history of the game and he should be traded because of this) Hey, it's not like I want him suspended but if this stupid crap keeps happening, it could happen. I'm not even saying it will happen with this instance but if 1 or two additional stupid things happen this year it could happen.

He is in no danger of anything right now. How about we wait til it happens before we jump off the bridge?

If OBJ were in any trouble they wouldn't be starting contract negotiations now.

my question is why put yourself in this position in the first place? My answer is that OBJ does not put himself "in this position." The media does.

Come on jimmie this is extortion 101. As the member here had said, which I responded to, it's all in the company he keeps. He has control issues on and off the field. that is fact he just needs to keep his most trusted friends close and forget about the rest he's past super star he's in he mega stratusfar.

Yeah, we went through all of this early on in Eli's career...the constant accusations of drug use, prostitutes/quasi-prostitutes, and bodyguards assaulting folks. Nothing to see here. That's right, there is nothing to see, which is why this story has not gotten any legs in the press.
I read the article prior to it being posted here and decided it wasn't worth it.
As for Eli, didn't he just settle that fraud case that they were building against him for years? And didn't he get himself arrested for drunken and disorderly conduct in college?
this story has been around for a while they are nothing but a pack of vultures, they waited for his contract negotiations to start so they could get a quick pay day, hope he takes these guys to the mat.

Joke went over your head. I don't really need to explain it, do I? It's true lot of celebrities use "escort services", etc. How is it a joke? You know this how ,yes, please explain it to us. "When you're rich and famous you don't pay a hooker for sex. No, you pay her to leave afterwards and not take a lot more of your money in the long run." Reading comp not your strong suit, eh? Or just not your sense of humor?

my question is why put yourself in this position in the first place? We all have placed ourselves in not so ideal situations at points in our lives . When I was in his age I would go to parties. I did not use drugs but there were people actively using Coke in the open. The difference is I was not anyone that could be extorted or that would be considered to be important enough to do it to. With social media and 24 hour news anything that can be blowout of proportion , exploited or used to gain notoriety, will be. He is not going to live in a bubble. No 25 year old would.

Avoided and haven't read anything in this thread but, why not make a post?
Since Plaxidope shot himself in the leg an derailed the Giants 2008 team I (many of us fans) have had a heightened sensitivity to any Giants player news which could derail the team.
This news appears to be from a secondary source which doesn't really move me. Had OBJ been on video soliciting a prostitute like he proposes to a kicker's net I'm might be concerned he's an unware idiot. That quick video of him in bed with a woman trying to convince her to sleep with a friend certainly displays his unawareness yet I'm not surprised nor do I really care. He's a football player and despite these guys sometimes thinking their business people b/c they receive a check nobody is confusing them with real business people. That's why most are broke within 2.5 years after collecting millions.
OBJ appears to be behaving himself b/c I don't hear much about him. I'm sure his contract is going to have some addendums which protect the Giants in the event he does something to threaten his career or bring negativity to the Giants brand.
There will be more OBJ news, that's for sure. Hopefully he'll help the team win and the only bad news will be harmless acts of arrogance on the field which doesn't result in a 15 yard penalty. Can't trust any of these guys though. For the many players with their heads screwed on straight there is always another Plaxidope waiting to shoot himself in leg.

OBJ is young, rich & famous, guess what, he's gonna be a easy mark for men & women trying to shake him down for $$ with BS lawsuits. He really needs to re-evaluate his lifestyle & the company he keeps, sooner or later, it's gonna be the death of him. Like my mom always use to tell/lecture me as a kid growing up in the tough streets of Brooklyn back in the 80s, "tell me who you hang with, I'll tell you who/what you are". You are known by the company you keep. As far as paying for sex, he just needs to go Vegas where it's legal.

So your saying this accusation is true? What do you know that the rest of us don't?
