traditionally, the OL excuse for incompetence this early has been "knocking the rust off" so let's use it today and see if it gets better (unlike the past 5 years). .

I'm actually a bit dissapointemnt with Wheeler,I really thought he would be challanging Flowers at RT,I'm guessing he still doesn't have good functional NFL strength yet to do this.

Ehh....much like positives at this point in time I can’t worry too much. I won’t say the pass rush is great based on these clips either.
Time will tell of course

Just remember he wasn't drafted 32 teams passed on him 7 times, someday he might be serviceable maybe even this season, my guess is if they can free up more money they will be looking a swing OT.

I want to see in the first preseason game the last few years you could tell right off they were going struggle the offense couldn't operate at all 0 run game, and lots of quick pressure on the QB,forcing them into the get the ball out in 2 seconds mode that hung our WRs out to dry with safety's and corners sitting on those routes along with LBs under neath, the first 2 games will tell you a lot see if they can correct what ever issues they will have and such.

It’s going to take a while for OL to come together. Most are new players and basically none of the starters have played together. I am still of the view that Flowers is not a starting caliber player (and never will be) and will have another terrible season.
Generally the OL players in the NFL are amongst the worst in the league nowadays. The best athletes play elsewhere save the bonafide LTs of the league...rule changes also favour athletic quick play of the modern DL man

with this 1st practice I'll lean towards "1st practice". if they are like this tomorrow and the next day im beginning to worry. we should see improvement as the season goes on.

Not only is it first practice in pads, but it's our O vs our D. If the defenders were stopped, people would say the D is suspect. It's practice and both sides will improve.

Let’s not forget that for the last few pre-seasons, the OL was looking pretty terrible, and there was a lot of “it’s only pre-season, relax”
Don’t assume that the OL will be improved, or any other position(s) for that matter.

Apparently Bettcher is throwing everything but the kitchen sink at them so there is that. I wont start to get concerned until midway through the preseason and they look like crap We also have an intersquad scrimmage I think with Detroit so we get a week of actual physical practice against another team,so that should help

Being easy on them won't help the team. Come at the Oline hard because teams in the season won't be forgiving. Preview

I really think we have to wait and see how they progress past the first couple of padded practices. I know, it's been said before. But it's said because it's logical and just because it was said in the past doesn't mean there will be a repeat of the last five years as it's almost entirely different players and a different scheme. I think they will end up being a decent group. I'd be fairly surprised if they weren't better than any of the O-lines since 2012. I mean that's a pretty low bar since all of those lines have been terrible.

Please ,stop. In the pre season camps the Offense is always, always behind the defense in terms of progressions and pick ups . unfortunately the last few years they never caught up. Hopefully that changes with the new guys we brought in.
