Tate took something for fertility reasons and he reported it to the league prior to a failed test.

I hate to the bearer of non news but this team wasn’t going anywhere anyway. If Golden Tate and Corey Coleman are the difference makers in your roster, you still have work to do. This was never gonna be a championship season so if this simply reiterates that for most of us, that’s not the worst thing ever. Exactly. This was going to another 3 or 4 win season anyway. We HAVE to pick a WR in round 1 next year and we’ll probably be picking in the top 5 so i hope there will be a good one available. OBJ must be laughing his A!@ off !!! So let's say we end up 4-12 with the number 3 overall pick and Herbert is sitting there and (insert qb needy team here )offered up their 2020 2nd and 3rd round pick and their 2021 1st round pick to move up from 7 you would just pick a WR because it's a need, when probably that same WR is there at 7,and if not the class is so loaded we could get a dynamic guy at 7,their 2nd,or the other team's 2nd? Yes and I speak as someone who has been evangelical about needing that dynamic X factor playmaker but at the same time it would be a horrific misuse of draft assets to take that guy in this scenario with that pick

It's incredulous & comical at this point. If we can somehow get through this stretch with no receivers, I'm calling SB lol

Championship season or not it's gonna make the job of whoever is at QB that much more difficult if they don't have anyone to throw the ball to. 100%. I submit that would have been the case anyway. With no actual #1 WR teams' offenses generally look pretty crappy as we have all seen posted here ad nauseam. Granted most of the folks thought they were posting something different but that's irrelevant.

Hahahaha... So if Shep, Tate, Slayton and Coleman are all put week 1 vs Dallas, who is our #1 WR? Even with them, we don't have one this year.

The second we made the trade and then didn't replace talent with talent in the draft (not purposely as they shifted gears once they took Jones ) I knew this was a 6 and 10 team that was going into the season shorthanded with proper weapons on offense to run this offense at a high enough level to compensate for a very young inexperienced defense. Get the dynamic playmaker in 2020 But hey,the arrogant self proclaimed oldn school fans here will still bellow that recievers are a luxury and we can win with average middling recievers because New England does it and we did it in 1990 I don't know if I'm arrogant but I do prefer the game of the 80s and 90s to today, so I'm probably old-school That being said, while I recognize the game is very different, I just disagree (respectfully) with your assertions about the wide-receiver. In a reasonable speaking voice that doesn't come close to a bellow, I suggest that we may be able to make do with Latimer (someone I think will exceed expectations this year, btw), Engram and Barkley if we get hit with the worst-case scenario of not having both Tate and Sheppard for the first 4 weeks, especially if we go more 12 personnel as we did at the end of last year. There is also a good chance Shep makes it back for opening day. Also, aside from the Cowboys, our first 4 games look very winnable if our defense shows even a little improvement from last year. I'm remaining hopeful. Edit to add: I just read your later post talking about Conner and you have have written at length about 12 package in the past. I think we may be able to get a lot out of that package even without a surprise hit in Conner. Ellis and Engram (if he stays healthy) can get the job done, I believe. Would I prefer an upgrade over Ellis - yes. But he can get it done for 4 games, I believe. If you also notice, once we didn't spend a high pick on a playmaker I wrote off the offense as incomplete and why we would ne 6-10 Now that we are in this situation and made our bed so to speak with our playmakers I also think it would be kinda a.bad idea in a wasted season to bring in a vet when we could get a really good look at some kids,to determine what we need next year(and one of my self conditions I made was to get the dynamic guy next year early and just try not to be a boring plodding mess this year as we have a new qb who needs weapons to help develop) Latimer with his physical skill sets is fools gold, been in the league 5 years and zilch,so I'm not expecting much from him,I'd rather Slayton take that job and overachieve to the point a dynamic playmaker isn't the dire need next year that right now seems to be

Hakeem Nicks was no average middling receiver. This team was heading into the season without a true #1 and still is, The difference now is that the 2/3 that was gonna be used in the 1 spot will now be a 3/4 in that spot.

We have fans that think this team never was a dynamic offense and seemingly have an allergic reaction to the foward pass and how the league is a passing league these days and probably going more the way the college game is played on offense because of the talent that is coming out(Think Oklahoma)

I don't think anyone thought that, but I for one am tired of listening to people like Max Kellerman talking about how they're a laughingstock and how Gettleman is clueless, so this is taking a big step toward assuring that they'll be off to a horrid start, which is only going to further embolden these mouthpieces on TV and it's going to be another year of having to listen to it. Well, I sure wouldn't spend any time wondering how the entertainment division feels about it. You can almost fill three thimbles with their collective knowledge of running a professional football team. Also, I'm pretty sure there have been no meetings to discuss the laughing stocks of the league. Because the league doesn't care what the marketing and entertainment division does, their job is to generate interest however they can, that's all.

It's the very fact that these people have zero collective knowledge and yet have the ear of everyone in the country that makes it so nauseating to listen to. Also, all the noise they've been making only confirms for division rivals who've been practically beating off to our perceived failure and to so-called fans who hate Gettleman and his decisions exactly what they've been hoping for--a validation of their own beliefs. So far, all roads point to a continuation of that. Tuning it out since April has meant avoiding TV, radio, and social media, which, if you're reasonably patient, isn't that hard. But if all this snowballs, it's going to be at least another 12 months of these chimps sounding off and their cheerleaders cheering them on. Not looking forward to it.

Per @adamschefter Giants’ WR Golden Tate is appealing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s Performance Enhacing Substance policy and believes he has legitimate case, league sources tell ESPN.

Too busy working to have a sick assed season to be honest. He is driven to perfection (probably a symptom to what I feel his mental issue is)and in his mind probably nothing less than an all pro year and Super Bowl MVP will make it better for him.

We both know that answer is no. Nor is he able to play all the positions that his trading replaced. So while I agree it would be nice to have a great #1 WR like Beckham, it ain't making any difference to this team this year.

At this point they are at least 17 games away from even making an initial determination about that.

Golden Tate facing 4 game suspension. This wr corp is in disarray. Injuries Shep looks like he's out for the pre season, and now Tate goes when he comes back. So at least both get work as the flex receiver. The Z receiver looks like it's wide open.
What's it been 4 days the vets have been in camp ? We haven't even had a scrimmage yet. Can't wait till tomorrow everything is going so good.
