So his opinion is evidence of collusion? He’s one owner who spoke honestly about the fan reaction he received to CK. If there is anything to be learned from John Mara’s comments, it’s just how much the fans object to players disrespecting the National Anthem. well the nfl did settle , you do the math. Obviously they felt if he took it to court they would have a higher chance of losing then winning.

People would have no problem signing Kap if his talent outweighed the negative perception from a portion of the fan base.. He isn't a starting quality QB so why would a team sign him? Who wants to have the backup QB being the focus of the media every week? If he was top 20 QB he would be playing 100%.

It's actually Reid and Kap. It was less than $10 million, or less than $320K a team. Literally sofa cushion money to each team. Pocket change to get rid of a nuisance. Oh, and no promise of a job. That indicates to me that Kap and his lawyers were happy to get what they could, not that the owners were running scared.

And it’s only a fraction of what he could have gotten by simply staying in his San Francisco deal. When he opted out of that deal, it must have been like Christmas and VJ Day all rolled into one for them.

Apparently Barkley tweeted some kind of political support for Kap and said ,"I don't care if I lose fans." One thing I LOVED about Barkley last year was his humility and his moderation of thought. I really hope this isn't the start of a bigger-than-the-game attitude. Personally, my opinion on this is that I don't care about who sits or stands because I find the pledge of allegiance to be a form of idolatry so to speak, and any pledge is, by design, an oath where you're promising the system not to think for yourself. But I also can't stand how they've pulled politics into a place where it has no business being. A sports team is like a bar - it's supposed to be a forgetting place and if you are paid BY the fans, how do you make the statement that you don't care if you lose them? I'd hate to see Barkley grow an ego. giantswire.usatoday.com/2019/08/13/saquon-barkley-support-colin-kaepernick-dont-care-lose-fans/I agree with Barkley I support Kaepernick I am even thinking about buying Nike shoes!

I mean what is Barkley supposed to say I am a Trumper even though Trump supports the KKK and is a racist?

The nfl felt it would likely lose the case so they settled, the figure amount is immaterial could be 20k.

You literally couldn't be more wrong. I dont think you get it, he wasn't doing it for the money, settling was not an omission of guilt however it leans toward that side. You are incorrect if you think kap had a weak case. Again one does not settle if he had a weak case. 10mill isnt a small amount either just to settle for, because one could argue that bringing it to trial would cost more than settling the case.

If he had a strong case, he would not have settled for that small amount. 2) He got no admission of guilt...NONE. I defy you to show me this admission. Ben settled with at least one of his accusers...is he an admitted rapist? 3) He got a check, that's it. A check he had to split with another player and is lawyers. 4) And you settle weak cases because the trial would have cost a pretty penny, and you never know what's going to happen in a trial. And no executive wants to be deposed.

No I dont think so , I have been part owner of a night club, when a celeb or athlete comes in the girls are all over them, makes zero sense to rape one when you can get 10 easy. I think he settled because then it dies down quicker. Notice how criminal charges were never brought. she ended up sueing her co workers and bosses at the casino as well . They leaked that she would often make up boyfriends that didn't exist and had previous stints in a mental hospital. "After having sex with Roethlisberger in July 2008 and telling a friend, former Harrah's hotel director Stacy Dingman, that Roethlisberger is "hot," Roethlisberger then ignores her, Piscevich said. In January, after the Steelers win the AFC Championship and prepare for the Super Bowl, she changes her story, telling Dingman that Roethlisberger assaulted her, Piscevich said in the motion." sounds to me she changed sex into rape once she found out he didnt want a relationship . (happened to a friend of mine) lucky she didn't go to the police or drop a civil suit on him.

No i said its not an omission of guilt now 3 times , . however settling a rape accusation and collusion is different, one could settle and take plea bargain deal for 6 months probation, didnt do the crime but if found guilty would get 6-7years. So they dont want to take the risk.

So when you say "do the math" on the NFL settling the lawsuit...for 1/8 the amount sued for...with no admission of guilt...no re-reinstatement for Kap...without being tied up in depositions for years...your math sees that as an admission of guilt?

Eli settled his fraud case. in both these cases(his and bens) i feel they didnt want it to drag on, its bad press The collusion case was not a criminal matter.

So they settled so it wouldn't drag on...which is good business if you can get a favorable settlement. Why wasn't that what the NFL was doing? For pennies on the dollar Without being deposed Without admitting anything Without bringing Kap back Seems like the biggest no brainer imaginable.

I tend to agree with thoughtful, rational replies. And I like a bunch of your stuff sometimes too. ps- we're not actually twins although he is damn good looking
