Would you guys be willing to trade Barkley? I would. I would trade him for a pass rusher like Bosa or Mack or some top tier pass rusher.

He's garbage and so is Nike. I haven't worn any of my Nike apparel since last year.

If we knew what the belief systems were of our favorite athletes, i'm sure most of us would stop watching sports. These guys are far from angels and after watching 4 seasons of Last Chance U on Netflix, my opinions have worsened. Exactly. I really don't want to know actually. They are players for my team. That's what they are to me.
I would just rather not know what any of them think about controversial issues. The only people who have the ability to influence me are the people around me. Those who have earned my trust.
Agreed, I'm not all that interested in what their beliefs are, any more than they are interested in the beliefs of, heck, even their fellow teammates. The idea is just to come together for football. Putting aside differences every now and then for things we share common ground are is how a civil society stays civil.

NFL paid them because it would’ve been an embarrassment to NFL if they had gone to court and had all their nonsense come out. You have a link for the 5 percent settlement? Really He turns down 7 million dollar contract to play . Opens up a 100 million dollar laws suit after he turn the contract down . Then settles for under 5. www.nytimes.com/2019/03/21/sports/colin-kaepernick-nfl-settlement.htmlYou’re providing hearsay and not actual evidence. When you have evidence, please provide it.

Proves he doesn't want to play, just complain. He want's to be a victim. If he plays he is exposed to what he is a backup QB. A victim can soap box for as long as he want's to. In no way, shape or form has CK1 acted as a victim.

Kap's not playing for a few reasons. To some he is a marginal, controversial player who is a distraction. Someone mentioned Tebow in the same light. Good comparison in that way. Just too much baggage with guys like this. There are some teams who would sign him but not for what he wants to be paid. He apparently wants #1 QB money and to be the #1 guy. Not gonna happen. Denver was willing to sign him to a decent contract but Kap said no.
Kap has been out of the game for a few years now. All that time he could have been learning the game.
Yes, there are QBs on teams that he outclasses in some ways but these guys are backups being paid backup salaries that he won't accept.
If Kap would sign for a cheap contract plus incentives based on performance he get signed most likely.
How much is Nike paying him? Millions? He doesn't need to play. He does need to stay relevant in the media which it seems he is doing.
He's got it made with his Nike deal. He probably really has no interest in playing.
Playing in the NFL would screw up his business plan...Why would he take a pay cut?

You’re providing hearsay and not actual evidence. When you have evidence, please provide it. It's public record. He opted out of his contract with the Niners. Look it up. He rolled the dice and lost. He had guaranteed money owed him but he opted out.

That statement is highly debated and questioned by statistics and percentages. Thats not my point though. As for it being needed to be corrected, kneeling is certainly having the reverse affect IMO. It is making a large crowd of citizens act more aggressively towards law enforcement, and therefore, making there jobs more difficult to react appropriately in a split second. So if a white cop is in a mostly black community, and trying to get the person of interest to follow his orders so he is safe, but that person is resisting or reaching in his pocket, it most likely wont end well, even if that person did not have a weapon. As I said before, I definitely understand there are issues with some police officers right now, no one is denying that, but it isnt being made any easier by these protests and demonstrations. Deleted post No...But it contributes to the divisions.

I posted it all with links The settlement The Opting out of his contract The refusal of the Denver contract The ridiculous request for 20 million a year to play for the AAF He refuses to accept anything provided that supports a point of view that is not his and yet he provides none of his own.

If he is not, and he truly wanted to play, Why did he turn down the Denver deal? Because he wants to be a guaranteed starter .......................and he isn't that good, never was. Believing that Kaepernick isn't good enough to be a starter is racist.

If he is not, and he truly wanted to play, Why did he turn down the Denver deal? Because he wants to be a guaranteed starter .......................and he isn't that good, never was. I do not believe this. He does not want to play because it exposes him to the truth for all to see. He is a backup. He never sat or knelt when he was a starter. Only after he was benched. Than it became it was not about his actions on the field but his actions on the sidelines on why he is not a starting QB. That is time line and the truth

I agree with you here but I all so believe he wants the stage and people are telling him he must earn it .........and he doesn't like that. I could agree with this until his almost insulting demand for 20 million a year to play in the AFF. When the highest paid payed player was 250 thousand. If he wanted to play he could have played for 250 to show the NFL he can still have value to a team. He made his price so high that it was astronomically unpayable for the AAF. He did it to he keep up is narrative. See" I am a victim" and no wants me on their team. When you see through the fog he has incased himself with . He wants to keep playing the victim card in the hopes he will keep getting the "I feel sorry for you" endorsements. He is that easy to read . Now he is doing the same thing to Jay Z. You don't want to include me, again "I'm a victim."

I don't understand the animosity toward CK. He took advantage of capitalism like many others would like to do. His martyr act has hurt no one. Agree or disagree with his tactics, he beat the system. He gets notoriety and a pretty good amount of money without having to risk physical or mental damage on the field and all he had to do to earn this was kneel down.
It's obvious he wanted out of football as he passed up several chances. He was one of the few who realized his window for success was near its end and opted out before he could no longer compete. (I wonder if Eli ever considered this.)
For a player with average talent he has done well.

I look at it this way. If you walked into a funeral, would you come in laughing, telling jokes, talking loudly, and acting upbeat? No. You would moderate and tone down your behavior out of respect to the people who lost somebody. You would submit to social norm of how you pay your respects because it would otherwise appear completely selfish to everyone in the room. So, if you walk in laughing, telling jokes, talking loudly, and acting upbeat, you shouldn't be surprised when people across the room are offended. Now imagine that in your ignorance of that, you then take it a step further. After realizing the reaction you're getting, you say, no, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. It's not my intention to be disrespectful. I was laughing and telling jokes to brighten up the room. Well, it doesn't matter what your intention is, or what you think your intention is, because it's not your place to create an atmosphere according to your own desires. These players are doing exactly that, and then acting surprised that people find their behavior to be obnoxious, and then telling people they don't care.\ The flag and the anthem really doesn't mean anything to me. But I stand and take my hat off out of respect for the fact that it means something to others. I go through what I view as a meaningless ritual because I don't fell the need to piss on it.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's meaningless. But in honor of those who have sacrificed I pay my respects.

Well, it's meaning varies from person to person, and that's the point. The meaning I get is neutral. The meaning players may be might be a little more negative, but in both cases, again the funeral analogy - even if I personally think putting a body on display and then preserving it in a tomb feels like some weird messed up ritual, I'm still going to observe the funeral customs that other people find meaningful, even if it's a facade. In the same way, you're not being asked to respect the flag; you're being asked to respect PEOPLE who respect the flag. I don't make it about myself by verbalizing my opinion of it, because if I did, I'd be selfishly demanding that everyone agree with me about it.

I personally don't have animosity towards Colin, but I don't feel sorry for him either. Any animosity I had was pointed at the TV networks and broadcasters for highlighting the protests.
But Colin certainly got people's attention. Too bad it came through division.

Its as simple as that. I am not a fan of how he protested only because I think it did more harm that good and the ignorant people would not take the time to understand it. His intentions were not at all to disrespect anything. It was shed light on the issues that ARE actually disrespecting this country and what it supposed to stand for.
