Ok I know, first pre-season game. Forget arm strength, definately seems to read the field better. Just an observation of what I'm watching.

Saw the same, plain as day. For a minute on one drive it looked like Webb was getting his accuracy down, but he then missed on a touch pass and lost it again. Lauletta looked crisp and clean, and with more reps in practice and under the preseason lights, he should improve. If he can get stronger, faster, etc., he may have a chance to be the guy we hope he can become. I know it's early too, but when it comes to QB you can often just see talent, and what a guy is right off the bat.
Thing about Webb was that his accuracy was very poor. I'd heard there were questions about Webb's decision making, but he looked OK in that regard. His arm looks live and he has decent legs and good size. If he can somehow fix those accuracy issues he could be pretty good.

Yeah same here. Webb didn't look sharp at all. One game though so a long way from making decisions. Mayfield look like the 2nd coming with his performance. Makes you wonder about all our Qbs'.

Yes my take is Lauletta looked like the guy Webb should of been being around since last year.
Lauletta seems the more seasoned player

im more curious to see how they perform in the next game. Lets see if their performance today was an isolated incident or a pattern. Same with everyone else on the team.
As it stands now...Lauletta 1 vs Webb 0

I missed the game because it was blacked out here, so I can't comment on the play of either backup QB. I just hope one of them emerges over the next few weeks as the guy who can be there if we need him.

Yes, the race for backup Kyle 1 Davis 0 As for next franchise QB ?............ crickets........... And this Webb guy is known to get worse when pressure increases. Yikes , if he had to face that Jags D , that would not be pretty. Q the paperbags Kind of reminded me of how Dave Brown would bounce passes to his receivers but this guy was throwing too high. At least he was consistent.

Lauletta has a crisp arm. Hoping to see what he can do with a long ball. He threw well tonight. Webb, looked awful. I saw some practice video and he was bad there. Kyle needs more reps next game.

I thought Webb looked out of place last night. Lauletta looked confident, and under control. He threw the ball much better than Webb as well. Interesting too see how this progresses over the next few preseason games.

Webb had no touch on his ball. He seened to lock in on his primary receiver. He had no feel of pass rush, to slide in pocket, to create throw. As,mention it's only the first pre season game. It would not be a schocker if Webb and Thompson does not make the roster. The cleansing of Reese.

Webb looked lost. I didnt see one good pass, even the one he completed were off a bit.

Webb was a disaster..
Lauletta looked much better and his passes seemed to suck into the receivers for easy completions..

I thought Lauletta looked way better then Webb. He seemed to have more control with his passes. He also looked more into the flow of the game. He's also playing with 3rd string oline men and 3rd string wr's. Webb should've had at least a 60 yard td pass if he doesn't overthrow the wr. Webb seems to have no touch at all. Lauletta just looked smooth out there. I'd like to see Lauletta get some reps with the 2nd string in some upcoming preseason games....

It is hard to overlook the weak arm....
He was also playing against guys who for the most part will not be on rosters come September.
I am not bottom lining him out of the equation, just trying to add context.

Webb played like a fan after having a few too many in the parking lot.

It wasn't just Lauletta's decisions. His footwork was way better than Webb's too. Can't blame that on jitters.

I'm getting way ahead of myself here but regardless of preseason performance is Lauletta a lock to make the roster simply because of where they drafted him and wanting to keep him for the future?

Neither one is ready to play tomorrow in a real game.

FWIW, I do think lauletta is the next giants QB. Webb is a choker, not a gamer and cant get it done with it all on the line. yeah, I know its very little known about Webb but I just got a feeling and I will leave it at that. Not a fan of Webb. now back to Lauletta.. If he can learn from Manning, he is gonna be just fine. Maybe not the next sure thing, but he will be better than average and be able to win. JMHO. Please tell me why Webb's 2 quarters here mean anymore than his game winning drive against the Patriots last year in the preseason? He's a choker now? What will you and everyone else say if Lauletta stinks up the joint next game and Webb lights it up. Does that make Lauletta a problem. I cannot believe the overreacting in this place. I was laughing at first, but it's absolutely ridiculous. The freaking guy played two mediocre preseason quarters and was starting to settle in near the end of them.

You are correct GT on all fronts with this one. One pre-season game of splitting garbage time offers nothing.
