If the O-line personnel and offense scheme changes workout as they should, we should see the receiving unit getting more equal attention and production from each starting member. This will be terrific for the team as a whole, but might not sit well for some - Dez or no Dez.

I just can't or don't want to image OBJ and Dez melting down on the same set of downs. That's just one to many big personalities IMO...

with our open cap room, he would have to sign at a major discount for it to work, and I really don't see him doing that. He turned down 7M from Baltimore, we can't afford close to that number.

If this offseason was geared towards changing the team culture I don't see any reason why Gettleman would bring in Dez unless a lobotomy was part of the contract.

It would be crazy awesome.

No Dez please. We don't throw up the X around here.
We can find a serviceable third WR from the guys we've got. I'm actually hoping we run more 2 WR sets, to feature the TE and RB more.

I don't think we really need the headache that comes with it considering Barkley is a threat in the passing game too. If we'd have drafted a QB instead, I might be more inclined to the idea. Production < Headache.
No to Dez.

One of Dez's main complaints was not getting enough targets, and if he wasn't seeing them in Dallas, he won't here. Beckum/Engram/Shepard are just better and don't come with the baggage.

I think people are crazy if he can come in and do what Marshall was supposed to do for a fraction of the cost. And he's motivated because he feels like he was beyond loyal to an organization that didn't even come to offer a pay cut, just straight released. I'd feel some type of way -- even knowing it's a business.
I'm always intrigued by the motivation aspect.

even if he wasn't something of a headcase, we just don't have the cap space. He turned down 7M from Baltimore, and I would only sign him for a really low ball figure (2Mish) if at all.

Not because of his personality but because of his game. Dez always relied on his pure size and strength to overwhelm defenders. He was very successful at doing so. However he never worked on the craft of being a WR. Crisp routes, separation, presnap reads and intelligence, etc... he just solely relied on his "bully" technique. But now he's older. He's not the fastest, not the strongest... and it's starting to show in his decline in production. I'd rather not even take a flier on this type of signing. I'd rather go in with the three receiving threats of Beckham, Engrem and Sheppard.

Not sure of the cap space remaining for the Giants.....still remember Dez Bryant, who'd be in people's faces on the sidelines for not getting enough passes thrown his way.....not sure the risk would be worth it

Has OBJ ever said he would like to have him on the team? I know Jenkins is pushing for it.
