Additionally, MLB will fine the Astros $5 million and take away their first- and second-round picks in the 2020 and 2021 drafts, sources tell ESPN.

No players were disciplined by Major League Baseball in the Astros' investigation. While Mets manager Carlos Beltran was part of it, he was a player at the time and thus was not suspended.
Discipline for Red Sox manager Alex Cora is coming. It is going to be harsh, per sources.

Weak.
Cheating is still worth it.
They need to be banned from playoffs and-or lose championship recognition by MLB.
Suspending coaches is nothing.

So.....I guess go for it.

the dark period in which nearly every team had players juicing was as a league largely behind us. Now the Astros and Red Sox stand out as uniquely corrupt beneficiaries of the sign stealing scandal

Cant wait for MLB to suspend EVERY team's manager as you said will happen since EVERY team cheats with sign stealing. They just finished up their deep investigation into this scandal. Should be a fun 2020 with all new managers for EVERY team. since EVERY team is doing it. Oh...

I bring it up now to point out the hypocrisy of my Yankee fan friends.

Still waiting for EVERY team to have their manager suspended. MLB isnt cherry picking on the Astros and Red Sox here... They are involved in a long thorough investigation. If they are all stealing signs with cameras and unapproved electronic equipment, they will be had. Alex Cora appears to be the center of attention here.

This is closer to the Black Sox scandal than the Steriod Era.
All those players were kicked out of baseball.

What about Ortiz and ManRam, two staples of the Red Sox? Personally, I don't even care about PEDs. Stealing signs are part of the game. Using state of the art technology to steal signs, strats, and to alert the team of what pitches are coming, is not.

The topic was about the Astros and Red Sox getting busted for cheating by using tech to steal signs. You said everyone does it (the Boston excuse). So I'm sitting here in anticipation of EVERY manager getting suspended after MLB did a very thorough and extensive investigation. Which wont happen because not EVERY team is doing what the Astros and Red Sox are accused of doing. AKA Cheating

Cora, it seems, was the ring leader so he's going down hard I'm sure. If and when he does, then I'm sure the Sox will let him go.
We will see if the Sox are penalized for anything that happened in 2018. As far as the 2017 Astros, the Sox got beat in the playoffs by Houston as well.
For the record, if Cora is guilty of this then I want him gone from Boston.
But when I hear Yankee fans whining about cheating, given the proven record of many Yankees players juicing......I have to laugh at the hypocrisy.

Oh so now you changed your stance. When the topic was brought up you said EVERY team does it. The fact is, every team may try to steal signs from a 2nd base runner or the dugout (maybe) but not every team does what the Astros and Red Sox did to that degree which is why they got caught cheating. No hypocrisy at all. If they Yanks get caught id be for an equal penalty too. But they didnt. Because every team isnt doing what the Astros did in 2017 and the Red Sox in 2018. Enjoy your last year of Mookie on a bad Red Sox team Morehead! :-)

The big difference is that Clemens, A Rod, and all the other roiders were individuals. The Astros issue was organizational. On a whole different level in my opinion. Red Sox also, but they more bent the rules than breaking them all-together, very Belickickian of them.

The Yankees and the Dodgers have the biggest beefs about this cheating scandal. The Dodgers have it the worst considering that both teams beat them in the World Series. Dodgers fans and media out here are fuming

Phil Rizzuto must be rolling in his grave. He got such a kick out of Cora the player, since that was his wife's name. I greatly miss having an announcer who can be whimsically entertaining like that.
