Yeah, Juan Soto was with his team the past couple of weeks right? Off to a rough start.

Damn that sucks. He will be out for several weeks at a minimum. This is such a weird year. The WS participants might actually be the last teams standing vice the best teams

Here is your opening night lineup And I've got several complaints... go figure. Lol Gardy 5th? Wade? Hicks leading off? Where is DJL?

Despite having no one in the stands. I am very excited about Yankees baseball being played. I have assumed my usual position on my recliner with beer in my hand

I like Gardy for his service to the Yankees through the years but how on earth can he start on this team?

Thoughts on Cole's first start for the Yankees?

Thoughts on Cole's first start for the Yankees? Looked good. Velocity was there. Command not yet. Same with Scherzer. Philthy stuff. Although it's the Yankees so they are going to strike out 20 times a game anyway.

Still pretty ridiculous they are pitching Happ over Monty in this series.
Stanton is going to have a monster season if he stays healthy. No one in the stands to put pressure on him.

This just in, Mookie Betts is really, really good. Thank God the Red Sox traded him to save 2 years and $60m (2031/32) while he scored a 12 year $360m contract.
Whats up with him kneeling before and during the national anthem though? Trying to appease? Seems a bit overdone. They made a deal to kneel prior so they wouldnt have this controversy stuff. What was his point? The statement was made prior with everyone.

I wonder if they are expanding to 16 playoff teams to try to get Mike Trout in to the postseason lol

I wonder if they are expanding to 16 playoff teams to try to get Mike Trout in to the postseason lol I actually think that the Angels are going to be pretty good this year and would be a playoff team regardless. Rendon, Trout, and a healthy Ohtani are an excellent trio of players to have. They also have a really good manager in Joe Maddon. Their biggest question mark is whether or not they have enough pitching. IMO, MLB expanded on the playoffs for one reason: MONEY. On another note, the sense of entitlement out here about the Dodgers is real. This morning on the radio they were claiming how their game was the real first game of the season since their game didn't rain out.

Trading him was such a bad idea. I don't care how depleted your minor league system is. It wasn't like the Red Sox were rebuilding. They were in contention and a clear threat to make the playoffs on an annual basis.

Kinda interesting that, it was exactly 100 years ago they traded Babe Ruth (1919/20) and went on an 86 year long drought.

Sonny Gray has now gone 34 straight starts allowing 6 hits or fewer, which is a new Major League record. SMH @ Larry Rothschild.

Very thin skinned. Not a NY personality. I think that you're right. Sonny, though a really good pitcher, was not a good fit mentally for the town. It is a totally different ballgame when you put those pinstripes on. Fans of other teams don't like it, but it is what it is. I did some research and read that they had him throwing sliders when it was pretty clear that he is not a slider pitcher. Maybe could be used as an 0-2 waste pitch. Gray's best pitches are his 2 seamer and curve ball. Why the hell are they having him throw slider on hitters counts? Lol.

Nationals' Stephen Strasburg scratched from start vs. Yankees due to hand issue The Washington Nationals were slated to start Stephen Strasburg on Saturday night against the New York Yankees. But the right-hander's 2020 debut will not happen as planned. Rather, the Nationals scratched Strasburg on Saturday afternoon due to a "nerve issue in his right hand" that required an injection, manager Dave Martinez told reporters, including MLB.com's Jessica Camerato. www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/nationals-stephen-strasburg-scratched-from-start-vs-yankees-due-to-hand-issue/
