A force at DT Has been sitting top 10 prospect since the end of last years draft. He is a DT...a great one. Gettleman loves him some DT You think he is viable over our LT or Edge...if they fell? I am happy to be the first one to notice the top ten player and suggest it. So, yes or no on this stud? I'd go OT here, or Young...would take Mr.Brown over any wide receiver ..... www.saturdaydownsouth.com/sec-football/5-star-dt-derrick-brown-commits-auburn/"where were you, and what were you doing when you heard this announcement?"

If a tree falls in a forest and nobody's around to hear it does it make a sound?
Maybe not, but science has indeed discovered they are screaming for attention So, do you think Gettleman bites with this DT stud?....as he should be a top 10 pick Many of us had him on our mock drafts LAST year...until he stayed at Auburn for his senior year. Of course we took Dexter Lawrence last year, who like it or now, is more a 1 tech. Brown is a far better 3, as well as a master of the double team 1....a better prospect IMHO. Would Brown be the guy now THIS year? Derrick Brown was just "another" tackle in a deep class (some scouts had Brown BPA in the entire draft before he stayed in school)...this board of course changed with Brown staying in school, and the Quinnen Williams arrival. This year, Brown is basically THE prime interior big man on defense, and he should be a top ten pick. That has been obvious since last year. I will say, no...the Giants do not spend a first round pick on him, even if he is their BPA on their board. We will have a possible OT, Edge or even S/LB need before this stud...despite DG's positional value of DT being quite high.

BTW, wonder if the Raiders regret their Clelin Ferrell pick...over Josh Allen.

Derrick Brown, held a lot against LSU....7 tackles, 2 for a loss and 1 sack.
He was dominant

I would be stunned if we took DT’s two years in a row in the first round

If he’s the clear BPA when we pick, sure, why not. Kid is a monster.
With that said, if there is a game changer type guy on the board at a position of “more” need then this might not be a great choice.
It’s fluid. Gotta see how the tree shakes before our pick.

I would be stunned if we took DT’s two years in a row in the first round I agree. IMO: MLB, WR or OT depending where we draft and who the FO believes is BPA. It won't be a QB, DT or RB. If any of them are BPA at the time of the pic Trade out of the pic.

All depends upon who is left standing when we pick. I see a LOT of teams finally biting on their QB this year...a trade back if we lose the Young as we suck sweepstakes? This is NOT my favorite pick, as I sit in my underwear drinking coffee ...but as lasion2 says...BPA is BPA...and DG does LOVE him some beef on the defense.

This was the guy I was hinting at a few weeks ago as the wildcard on defense that would set most of our fan base off grabbing pitch forks to kill Getty Actually makes sense in a way if they want to keep the D line on rookie deals and actually improve it. Not to mention some possibilities for goal line/short yardage situations with Tomlinson in his last year. They would have a completely unlockable front 3 by 2021. Personally I wouldn't do it as it would be a luxury pick but I would completely understand it as dominating the LOS on defense is a time proven way to win championships But enough of my presence on an attention whore thread

Last year, when I mocked him to the Giants....I had no idea he would be in play again this year as he returned to school. Thankfully, they had this big board I seen...can you believe it? He was still a top 10 pick...

I really don't think wr are that dumb If we DONT re-sign him, I want DG gone and Mara and Tisch to step down, because that would be the stupidest move in franchises history. No need to 'rent' a player in a season that is virtually meaningless

No need to 'rent' a player in a season that is virtually meaningless I think we are actually significantly over the cap after this trade due to this being an option year that was excersise Would not be surprised to hear of an extension on him in the next few weeks
