I would do whatever within reason to trade up for Chase Young.
He is a franchise changing player. He instantly would transform this defense into a top 10 unit combined with the emerging D line.
Yes we need OT and WR help, but if we have a top 5 pick and have a chance for a player that can have an LT type impact I would jump at it The Bears gave up 2 number ones. I would be willing even to do this so I keep the rest of my early picks in every round to then concentrate on O line and weapons for Jones because this move woumd hypothetically not have us picking earlier than 22 for a long while

The kid is a beast and can completely change the DL immediately. We need to probably be in top four draft to get him.

One of those 2 teams will be smart and put a death grip on that pick if they see the same thing

Which one was the first unpopular opinion? Just so many these days.
I hate to quote the broadcast guys, but he is the best player in the country. At a position of dire need. So this is reasonable, depending on what “whatever it takes” means to you. What were you thinking? Swap this year + a 3rd. Next years 2nd. Jenkins and/or ogletree. Might get us from 6-8 to 3-4. Right?
We’re gonna get someone that we desperately need. So, cheers!

(I Want to keep all my day 2 picks for offense in a BPA style)

Whew. You high on this fella. You’d give up next years 1 to get this guy, even though the guy we get at 6-8-10 would also fill a need? And, be pretty dang good? That’s saying ALOT. Is he better than Bosa? Garrett? Make your case.

Is he better than Bosa? Garrett? Make your case. He was a force last year and improved to being completely dominant. He looked like a man amongst boys against Wisconsin, who regularly is a factory for top end NFL linemen. Better than both Bosas..better than Clowney.. You see the effect Nick Bosa had instantly with San Francisco? This guy transforms our defense with what we have already(an emerging top D line and other youth). He would have an LT type effect on thjz team and give it a dynamic playmaker on both sides of the ball and with Jones emerging..

Ok. I’m on board. You got a list of day 2 WRs + OTs?
My only concern is that at 5, with 2 qbs almost certainly going top 5; One of Young, Thomas, Jeudy gonna be there. You know? All seem like game changers to me, with out giving up assets.
I think we have to lock down the draft spot, then we’ll know for sure
Does the Williams trade alter this at all?

Right now we are sitting at having the 6th overall pick so a trade up into those top spots isn't out of the question. But at what point do you pull the trigger? Dolphins take QB we trade up to 2 to grab Young? or do we wait a few more picks? How much are we willing to give up to get the guy? Because it will probably be this years 1st, next years 1st and quite possibly a 2nd and more.

We may just be in the top four picks in 2020 at this pace anyway Legacy....I am all for paying a premium to secure Chase Young but not if that price includes our 2021 1st rounder cause if things don't get sorted out rather expeditiously we will be drafting in the top 10 again the following April

Miami and Cinnci are the first 2 picks as of today. Both probably go QB's. Leaves Wash and Atlanta probably neither goes QB. If we go from 6th to 3rd I believe the Jets gave the Colts 3 #2's and a swap of #1's to go the same distance 2 years ago. Is that acceptable ? If this guy is that good is this a steal ?

you can always buy a draft position and move up by trading picks, it all depends on how much you're willing to pay, its my understanding that we will have a lot of picks in this draft, so what is Chase Young worth...

Would you give up 2 future number one picks(I want to keep the rest of bnb this year's day 2 picks for offense)for someone that would impact our defense and team the way LT did right out of the gate? Because this is what he coumd bring I would in a heartbeat

He is littarly a man amongst boys out there. He absolutely wrecked the game against Wisconsin and they always have a top o line with actual legit tackles that can play at the next level. Look at what Nick Bosa did for Sam Fran Young is dominating at a much higher level. Absolutely effortless

Seriously watch Ohio State whenever you get the chance. Unfortunately I think we end up playing ourselves way out of reach where 2 1sts would be enough (I'm not for tanking so if we do get kinda warm at the end of the year it means our own young players are getting better and less needs next draft) In which we have to hope he doesn't end up in Washington
