I feel bad for him. I hope he has a speedy recovery.
Dallas' O-line has been taken some unfortunate hits this off season. Zack and now this. I am not a Dallas fan but injuries and chronic conditions are what I want to see happen to any team or player.

Just saw the Travis Frederick news and it's heartbreaking.
My wife's cousin (a vet) felt a little under the weather, but was later found by a neighbor after not collecting his mail, motionless on the floor next to his bed. Guillain Barré syndrome. He was sent to the VA Hospital, where he remained paralyzed and motionless with a feeding tube and ventilator for nearly 6 months.
He gradually came around, but the nightmare for him was that he was fully aware of his surroundings, but he couldn't respond to it. A living hell.
He's okay now, but still has limited use of his extremities. He's pretty resourceful, and has fashioned devices to help him hold a fork, and his car is retrofitted so he can drive, but his motor functions have have been severely hampered.
That said, he's glad he's alive, and has adapted accordingly. We enjoy our visits with him whenever we're in Albuquerque.

So does this end his NFL career?

Don't know. GBS affects people differently. Mark Schlereth managed to resume playing, but GBS took him out for something like 9 months.
