This is not some new made up comparison to thwart the cries of racism. This is a comparison from a college coach that first met Tomlin when he was 24 and then got Judge his first job as a coach (graduate assistant).

What I got from reading this is he’s a attention to detail kind of coach. Just like Belichick, which I believe is something every head coach should have to succeed in this league. Every season the league is changing and you have to change with it. Studying the game and preparing your team for every outcome is a good recipe for success.

Yep...heard the same this morning on sports radio from Boomer. They also had Carson Palmer and what he said about ST coordinators is that "usually" they know and understand clock management very well. More so than most DCs etc. I am glad we are getting a HC who will not calling plays etc. Concentrate on the game....the whole game....

I'm excited to see what he brings.
You haven't heard many negative comments regarding him. All positive.
The only people questioning this hire...appears to be people that have no idea who he is. Let's go!

Accountability is something I feel has been missing since Coughlin. Excited for this guy.

Thats why Bill wanted him on his staff after working with saban

Hopefully Judge is a sponge and absorbed everything from those two greats.

Let's go! I was floored when I read about this hire but some people get so upset when something they didn't predict happens. The crazy thing is people have been calling our decisions boring and "buddy/yes men" picks. Well this sure as hell was not boring.

irishmike "after the 3rd preseason game how is everyone feeling about Shurmur, Saquon and Webb. Too me Shurmur looks to be a massive improvement over Mac. When we first announced him as the coach I was hoping he would bring his usual love of different looks with him and he has not disappointed. Gone are the Mac days of 90% 11 personnel. Even when Shurmur runs 11 it looks different. I was watching a few breakdowns and it looks like Shurmur is doing a great job of giving the line help. You don't have to send out 5 receivers when you have ODB, Shep, Engram and Barkley to choose from. Send 3 of them and keep an extra two guys back to help block. The extra time for Eli will help shred defenses. Shurmur is creating the O that Mac couldn't.

I heard in a couple places that he has the personality and demeanor of Parcells. That definitely has sparked my interest. Gonna be looking for those similarities tomorrow and going forward.

Wow he has the smarts of saban, the coaching ability of bellichick , the personality and deanor of Parcells, and the looks of chucky. The commanding leadership of a young TC . I'm surprised he was just a stpeams and wr guy, Teams should have been beating down his door for years.

We as fans want to find reasons to like who the owners of the team we love hired. The hire might not of been who we had hoped for but want choice do we have but to jump on board and try to find and make positive comments Im sure we can go back further to when TC left and find positive posts about Mac. Its natural..

Shurmur was an upgrade over Bmac, but Bmac was terrible, so that wasn't saying much. He suckedcas well in the end.

Every season the league is changing and you have to change with it. Studying the game and preparing your team for every outcome is a good recipe for success. Actually, not just every season, but every game and during a game. Game-planning and adjusting during games is something that has been sorely lacking the past few years.
