When it was announced, every Giants fan I knew called me going crazy. “What have they done?!!?!” “They kept Gettleman, that’s why they couldn’t get anyone!!!” But I’ll tell you what, Giants fans: every single person in the NFL says this dude is a stud. Absolute culture builder, smart, knows how to lead, he’ll have a great plan. I’ve honestly heard nothing but phenomenal things. Not just from special teams coaches, but from other coaches. This guy is electrifying. He’s an off-the-radar kind of guy.

I had never heard of Judge, but I'm not in the business to know potential coached. So, I simply researched him after the fact and everything I've read, and everything I've heard, has been absolutely top notch. I couldn't be happier with the hire.

Everything that's been said about him matches the persona that we saw from him yesterday.
I never imagined myself feeling so optimistic about our next head coach.
Some of the things Judge said really hit home with me. The vision of the Giants representing the blue collar workers in this area was pretty powerful. I have been vocal about the Giants not having an identity for years, and this is the first coach to address that.
To be great, you have to have the vision to be great, and Joe Judge has that. And he has the ability to communicate that vision in a way that inspires people.
I'm very excited about the direction of this team right now.

Me too ... cautiously optimistic. Can't wait to see what the team looks like on the field under him.
No way I would have this same feeling of optimism if we kept Shurmur or hired a guy like Garrett.

Yea, he went a little off the deep end on the announcement and slowly started to draw it back in with the presser lol. Pretty surprising to see from him.

There will always be negative nancies, and I'm have no use for them. I go back to the 70's and I remember people telling me that Wellington Mara did not care about winning. That all he cared about has lining his pockets, and that he was too cheap to pay anybody. And then a few years later it was these same people telling me that Phil Simms will never win the big game.
It's all nonsense. It's people who know absolutely nothing but have this the need to spread their misery.

After so many losing seasons there's no way any of us are taking anything for granted, but this coach said all the right things and had all the right answers. He's seems natural.

Listen, I hope every word here turns out to be true and then some. Yet I don't quite get this... he's known far and wide around the league as some coaching phenom, yet he's totally off the radar at the same time and that's why the Giants were able to nab him? Can't say I follow...

Certainly the evidence points to those guys getting overlooked compared to OC & DC guys

He left me more than impressed. Was not expecting much from this hire but I was slightly shocked. Looked like a legit CEO/head coach. I like how he's embracing being a head coach rather than a playcaller/coach...looks like someone who can run a team. At last but not least...unlike McCarthy he knew what to do with his hands.

Shurmurs a decent man, I wish him well, but thank the gods Mara did what he had to do and cut him loose. Its a huge relief. We never would have won with him, they guy was way behind every Sunday and out-coached by a mile.
We're still gonna have to be patient with Judge now too, we're not going 14-2 in 2020. Its gonna take some time for even the best systems and philosophies to settle in.
but unlike 2019, I just hope to see actual progress, actual in game adjustments being made at halftime. just to see that the staff has a clue out there.

Kind of cool and kind of weird how Judge refuses to utter any Giants player's name to the media. He made it a point NOT to comment on any player until he buries himself in video of the team. The man has a plan and will not be deterred. AND, he can communicate that with the media preemptively, staving off any animosity before it builds; very mature for his age and inexperience as the head honcho.

I understand the need around here for positive news,I liked everything he said. we still have to win games though , a lot of holes and a lot of work to do. he seems like a good coach but HC is a different animal , we will see how well it works, and how good the cords are.

Shurmur is a good guy and a bright offensive mind. He did get the locker room back to functional and the team back to at least playing hard even if not on the same page. he left this place better then he found it. An dysfunctional locker room coming off multiple suspensions and players refusing to suit up, quitters and last but not least veteran over paid leaderless crew. Thank you Shurmur for getting the ball rolling.

I'm on board and feel it's a great hire...at least nobody knows anything going in, so we can't prejudge him...we all know the consequences. I appreciate the intelligence of having the correct young nucleus needed for a coach this young and inexperienced...he should be able to begin an easier process of creating his culture on this core of young players vs a team with too many veterans. My only concern will be luring free agents with the big blank check...imperative we get some on board leadership if certain big ticket guys come in, and not any that might tip the boat.

The moment the news broke that the Giants brass had requested permission to speak with Judge posters should of done their homework. That way their pants wouldn't have been in such a wad. I was vaguely familiar with the guy not sure how Giants fans weren't. I researched him and thought " this might be a really good move but I don't see the Giants pulling the trigger". Out of the box and creative decisions aren't our blueprint.
The sarcastic and whining responses to the hire were no surprise. It's a charecteristic of many - not all - on this board. It's also no surprise most have come around to accepting the hire and focus on the positive and the new direction this hire should bring. A good number of posters do have an open mind once the unexpected but with a positive glow sets in.
Then there are those pessimistic know it all's ( who don't really know much ) that persist with the negative thought process and keep their pants in a wad 24/7.It's just ingrained in every fan base to have these types. We certainly have our share.

We all know, though, that rational approaches are in short supply on social media
