If we trade down and end up with two first round picks this year, Chaisson needs be on our radar. Seems to be an Osi clone.......rockets in his shoes off the edge, a bit raw but has a tremendous ceiling, offers versatility, etc.
He seems like the perfect fit to play behind our stout DL.

Now we are talking my language here 2nd best pass rusher in the draft While not really a good pick at 4.. I would take him over Simmons in the teens

I'm not sure how he translates at the next level. He's a bit thin to rush the edge in the NFL. I look at him as being like Arden Key, another slim build LSU edge rusher who now plays for the Raiders.
Arden Key was projected a top 5 pick at one point and fell to the 2nd round. At that guys size, I need to see him drop into coverage like Julian Okwara can. I also don't see him setting an edge in run support. So he's a 3rd down passing specialist?

There's a whole bunch of picks better then that potential skinny tweener bust...but we agree, not Chaisson

However, he's apparently shown tremendous improvement each year, and the tools he has in place are already top notch. He'll only get better. I could absolutely be wrong, as I haven't seen much of his play, but at 250lbs I see no reason why he'll be a 3rd down pass specialist. I wouldn't necessarily consider that "thin," either. On paper, I think Chaisson is the type/style player who could absolutely thrive behind our DL. For the sake of discussion, if we traded back with the Dolphins and got their first round picks, I'd be surprised if he wasn't on our radar at 18 or 26.

I do not like his injury history.

I also think his more of a Athlete than Football player . He has 9.5 NCAA career sacks. IMO: that is not sack count you want from a 1st round OLB/DE. Either you can get to the Qb or you can't . To me it is that black and white. If you cannot. You have no business being picked in the 1st round.
IMO: He is a Rashan Gray Clone

I've watched him quite a bit While the sack numbers aren't there,he was highly disruptive in all aspects of his game, was very disciplined in the run game and maintaining the edge,a very good trait with how many teams run RPO and how inexperienced as a football player he is,which tells me he has a high level of football instincts and is very coachable. You don't see very many WTF plays in tape like you do with Simmons(just find tape of all of Dobbins big runs ) He also was the only player to put a bad game on tape of Thomas (who other than that handled pretty much anyone across from him the past 3 years) To me he is an edge rusher version of Danille Hunter, who also didn't have the sack numbers coming out but translated well The knee of course is a concern but it looks like he has gotten over it. Personally this guy is mid 1st rounder... I'd be on him if the O lineman we like are gone at 12

I'm not high on him...comparable to Leonard Floyd at best case?
Both 3-4 LB's...both thin...both good in coverage...both low sack numbers.
I see him early 2nd round...

This is how lipstick is applied to a pig.www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001103611/article/klavon-chaisson-im-most-valuable-player-in-2020-nfl-draftLSU's K'Lavon Chaisson has a simple answer for NFL clubs wondering why one of the 2020 NFL Draft's most athletic edge rushers didn't generate more sack production in college, and he can give that answer in three languages.
Chaisson likened his skill set to being trilingual.
"It's obvious. I'm going to be honest -- I'm actually the most valuable player in this draft ... and we all know that. When you hire somebody, do you want to hire someone who speaks one language? Or do you want to hire somebody that speaks three languages? I speak three languages," Chaisson said on Thursday during his NFL Scouting Combine media session. "I can pass rush, drop in coverage and cover anybody you want me to cover, and I can play the run. No offensive lineman will ever just move me off the ball and bully me."
Chaisson posted just 9.5 sacks over three seasons at LSU, but missed nearly all of the 2018 season due to a torn ACL. He rebounded last year with a career-high 6.5 sacks, but on Thursday, he dismissed the notion that sacks are an accurate measure of his impact. "Don't let sacks fool you. Every game you watch, I'm making production. My impact is being felt. I'm not just a pass rusher. I can affect games in any other way," he said. "... Even if I'm not getting sacks, (consider) my pressures and hurries. I'm always in the quarterback's face. Any offensive linemen I've gone against will tell you they've felt my presence."
Chaisson cited former LSU DE Danielle Hunter as an example of a player with limited sack production at the college level who has gone on to flourish in the pros. A third-round selection of the Minnesota Vikings in 2015, Hunter has been selected to two consecutive Pro Bowls with 29 sacks over the last two seasons. He had just 4.5 in his LSU career.
NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah ranked Chaisson the No. 26 overall player available in the draft entering the combine, and projected him to be selected much higher than that, at No. 11 overall by the New York Jets, in his first mock draft of 2020.He may be trilingual . The language of sacks for him is "No Hablo".

Then he is in with Uche and the guy from Utah for hopefully our 2nd 2nd round pick after a trade back To me what I saw was someone who dominated at times and made plays, much better than Floyd(who I always thought was overrated and glad the Bears traded up ahead of us for..)
