The 6-foot-3, 307-pound Ruiz was a two-time All-Big Ten honoree for the Wolverines. He appeared in 36 games with 31 career starts (26 at center and five at right guard). A native of Camden, N.J., he was hailed as the best pass-blocking center in the country by PFF College, with 447 snaps spent in pass protection and just eight pressures allowed, and none over the final five games of the season. Ruiz was ranked the No. 1 center by multiple outlets coming out of IMG Academy, which he led to undefeated seasons in 2015 and 2016. As a senior, he anchored an offensive line that helped the offense produce 2,000 yards through the air and 1,879 yards on the ground in 11 games. read moreI think most of us are in agreement we are drafting a Center this year. He would be a good pick at 36

Being PFF was used for the college stats, this is their scouts film write up. He does have issues "moving" people, and run blocking at center is a far more important trait to excel at vs pass. He is however only 20, and I'm certainly no scout...but I am sensing scouts believe his upside and ceiling as he is C1 on many boards. Just the idea that the Giants are talking with a center is a nice fuzzy warm feeling...Jones is probably having that feeling as well.

Growing young lad with some room to add muscle Some NYC tri state area pizza and pasta and the weight room is a great combination for adding muscle at his age naturally

Growing young lad with some room to add muscle Some NYC tri state area pizza and pasta and the weight room is a great combination for adding muscle at his age naturally Or, a Big fat gut !!! At 20-24 guys tend to still be in their growth spurt, albeit the end of it. The calories expended just by the growth spurt burn up to 3500 a day just sitting watching TV and eating McDonald's 3 times a day.... You need the extra calories when trying to put on muscle at this age...

This seems to be a great draft to target our needs just judging where the talent lies. Ruiz could be a stud. Should snag two OL early.

Im all for this but why the hell can't the Giants plug these freaking leaks. Now a team can just trade ahead of the Giants and pick him up....

Remember back in the day when players used to travel to teams to have private workouts?Teams used to be allowed 30 visits. It was well known who was going where..

good prospect kind of young to start right away.....maybe. Could be a rude NFL awakening for him Even with this pick if the get him they good depth at center.

It's no different than pro-day workout and what teams sent representatives. What will get us jumped is going into the draft without a Center.

It's funny, when I first mentioned Mims folks told me he'd be there on Day 3. It's amazing how the combine/workouts can make a players stock sky rocket.

Hopefully he or Ruiz is there when we pick in the 2nd. I'd be stoked with either of them.

Mims will not make it out of the first I wouldnt be so sure. There are ALOT of really good WRs in this class. Lamb, Jeudy, Ruggs, Higgins are my 1st round locks. After that you have Jefferson, Mims, Reagor, Aiyuk, Shenault. All of these guys could fall to round 2, especially with the annual push on QBs, LTs and CBs. This is the juciest value on a WR, early 2nd round. I finally watched film on Aiyuk, he can ball!!! I like him better than Reagor.
