Garret has coached against the Giants for year. Do you think his input on what he deemed as weaknesses and strengths and how he attacked them is coming into play as far as draft and putting together the defense.

I would absolutely think so.

I would absolutely think so. He could probably help the position coaches out on what they went after as far as the personnel goes.

He would probably say it's a bad idea to line up your corners at the sticks on 3rd and 8 every time.. Or take one of your 3 DTs off the field and only play 2 with your smallish edge guys with their hand in the dirt

Think it is only a 2 year sample he has coached against really but he might be able to point to some of the weaknesses he found.

Jerrah loves him some jerrah.

Hopefully he can tell us why we can't defend the TE position, which will force DG to draft Simmons

I'd be disappointed if judge and gettleman need garrett to figure out our strenghts and weaknesses. I do think garrett can help us against the cowboys though.

I think he definitely had input on the Toilolo, Cam and Lewis signings.

Garrett is a smart guy.
How he survived for so many years under Jones is very impressive.

Why not get as many perspectives as possible?

Its a team effort and each coach will give perspectives on the teams they came from.
Garret will be a sounding board for Judge is many ways I assume

Why not get as many perspectives as possible? Any Coordinator that is not aware of what his players strengths and weaknesses is an idiot. Because his opposition whether he be an OC or DC will know those strengths and weaknesses to exploit.

Obviously anyone on the staff should give input where they might have some.
But I dont get the logic here - Garrett schemed against our offense under prior coaches schemes. How will his experience coaching against us in the past translate to this year with a totally new staff? Plus hes the OC, is he going to start telling the new DC what to do?

Hopefully he can tell us why we can't defend the TE position, which will force DG to draft Simmons He just lost his job as a head coach and now is working as the Offensive Coordinator for the Giants. You think the new Offensive Coordinator will be advocating for defense in any way shape or form (Even if it's good for the overall team)? As some have mentioned, he is survivor....

Theres a solid argument that he knows our defensive and offensive personnel better then any of the new coaches. He can definitely give them info on how and why they attacked certain players. Telling them the opponents view, that is finding ways to exploit players weaknesses and how to beat them.
