If Davis Webb threw the ball around the yard at 65% and a few TDs he would probably still be here, they want to win and I don't think they care where a good player comes from or who drafted him or what round they drafted him in they are trying to build a winner.

Spending all of last season on the bench probably didn't help.

Please excuse me as I sift through some BS.
You made the comment that "the new coach is only going to play his new guys" and ended your posts with "And we kept liabilities like Flowers, Apple, etc."
Here is Webb's comment after the Lions game:
“I’m pretty confident in my ability,” Webb said. “I just think I needed to hit the reset button and kind of figure out how I want to play football. I want to play football at a smooth, calm level, and again, I didn’t play my best game tonight. Guys around me made plays.”
There is no serious wind issue at MetLife like there was at Giants Stadium So while at least we agree that the Giants play in an open air stadium and wind can be factor at times, I'm not about to get upset that we cut Webb and kept Lauletta right now, nor am I going to get upset over Gettleman and Shurmur shaking up this team. We were 3-13 last year after all.
Again, this is about the quarterback position. When it comes to the QB position, the coach or GM wants their guy. Cornerback is less of a concern when it comes to their guy, and also you only have a certain amount of draft picks. Again - this is pretty basic stuff. You can't replace everyone in one year. Either way, Apple and Flowers are larger liabilities to the future of this team than Webb was. Your bolded quote - literally watch any post game interview from any sport and 95% of the time, the guy who played well will say that. It's called being modest and giving the people around you credit. Tom Brady will say that all the time, as will Eli. It's standard practice. You are reading way too far into it. The wind is a huge factor at Metlife, and it was a huge factor at the old stadium. Yes, we were 3-13 last year after all...and we would've been 2-14 if the wind wasn't a huge factor at Metlife. If it is about the QB position, why didn't they cut Eli?

Spending all of last season on the bench probably didn't help. No it did! It helped convince a gullible portion of the fan base that Webb was never NFL material to begin with. Our FO has been dysfunctional for the last four or five yrs but let’s believe all the goods they are selling us w/o seeing for ourselves. Oh yeah, we got to see him in preseason ;-| . Mara loves his flock of sheep!
