I got an e-mail from the New York Giants ticket office today, giving season ticket holders two options in regards to the 2020 season.
1. Continue to pay for your 2020 season tickets in four payment installments starting on August 14th, then on September 14th, October 14th and November 13th.
or
2. Take a year off from buying your season tickets for the 2020 season with no penalty, and resume purchasing your season tickets in 2021.

That’s an easy decision.

It is a very reasonable thing to do, no skin off their noses really, many (most??) will still buy the tickets, it protects the team from liability in contracting the disease at the stadium and other litigation. It is also fan friendly in that it protects the seat for a year.
One could say that it is an obvious and easy decision by the Giants...……….but we all know that it were the Mets making the decision, they would totally screw things up.
So hats off to the Giants.

Option 2 FTW..
Many of these stadiums will be half filled anyway Hope this doesn't affect seeing the games in local markets due to the blackout rule

Oh boy...what is a guy to do? I suppose if I delay a year and they still have games, I could purchase individual games.

Was easy for me, no longer a youngster and while I’m out and about, mask, etc., not sure how comfortable I’d be in even a half full stadium. Kudos to management

The Giants and Jets have never sold out Met Life since its inception, and the last few seasons both teams could not even sell out the non-club sections.

TV revenue is so critical especially this year. Every team is going to take a serious hit financially this year. It will not surprise me if the league does not start on time or doesn’t play. These players must think long and hard about what they will be asked to do this season.

Went with option 1 as I think it's either gonna be full fan allowance or no fans for multiple reasons: - From an equal competition perspective if let's say KC allows fans at full capacity and the Giants say no fans at all this creates an unfair advantage from venue to venue and I don't think the NFL will allow that. Similar to what they did with training camps. - If they did a partial approach how the hell would that work? The amount of coordination it would take from ticket allotments to concessions, to bathrooms, to parking is unfathomable. My brain hurts from trying to contemplate it. You'd have to do a row by row approach to keep with social distancing guidelines and I know a bunch of people who have front to back seats rather than side by side. - I think with another delay in the payment schedule they're preparing for and maybe even expecting the worse......no football at all Selected option 1 because if no fans at all then I've already paid for next year's tickets.

Im thinking either stadiums across the board going 50% capacity or no fans at all.
I doubt COVID will be fully corralled before the kickoff of football season. We have seemed to have it under control in NY (knock on wood) but now the rest of the country is feeling it

Its going to be interesting going forward for football. Even at 50% capacity fans will still want to sit together. I mean you can be near your healthy family members/house mates with out social distancing. How will they police this at the games?

They are getting off to a bad start with the basketball and baseball restarts with baseball players getting sick at training having them shut down. No clue whats going on in Hockey. Maybe they will try to play.

Being that I live in SW Suffolk Co, LI, The last thing i want to do on a Sunday is drive 45mins to the stadium to tailgate and drive 3hrs home AFTER a game i didn't even get to get into. If theres no fans IN the game I might as well watch the game at home or a local bar

I am going with Option 1. First, hoping for a season, in any form, hopefully all 16 games. And then, second, if we are able to go, even half full stadiums, I want to be there.

It seems like the value of a seat at Giants Stadium is now less than when I grew up there in the 70's
I was there a few years ago and it was not my favorite at all, it was a hassle from car to stadium

NFL might ask fans to sign a coronavirus liability waiver to attend games this season, per report. If you want to attend an NFL game in 2020, you might have to sign a waiver. Although the NFL is hoping to keep the fan experience as normal as possible for the 2020 season, the league is definitely going to have to make some changes and it appears that one of those changes could involve fans signing a legal document. According to the Athletic, the NFL is currently considering the possibility of having fans sign a coronavirus liability waiver before they would be allowed to attend a game. By signing the waiver, fans would agree not to hold the NFL responsible if they were to catch COVID-19 while attending a game. Basically, fans would be forfeiting their right to sue the league and would be assuming all health risks that come with being in a stadium during a global pandemic. www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-might-ask-fans-to-sign-a-coronavirus-liability-waiver-to-attend-games-this-season-per-report/
