The link on NFL.com leads to a lengthy commercial for game pass so I’ll just summarize..... To the Vikes. For a second rounder in ‘21 and a conditional 3rd, 4th or 5th rounder in ‘22 depending on the Vikes team success and Pro Bowl outcome for the player Seems like a very fair price for a young talent like him. The cap hit will eventually be crazy but it would’ve been one less position for the Giants to address with theIr upcoming first round pick. edit - here’s a link from another site..... profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/08/30/jaguars-vikings-agree-to-yannick-ngakoue-trade/

I’m not a fan of these deals at all (see Leonard Williams deal), but it makes more sense for a contending team than it does for a 4 win team (see Leonard Williams deal).

That's all it is,a one year rental. Let's see how our guys develop.

I’m glad we passed. I think we’re gonna be in better shape having multiple extra draft picks annually and taking our chances that way. Better for developing a young team and tradition again. Also easier on the cap.

haven't your heard......The majority of Golden's sacks were empty and worthless. He also has almost zero impact on the field despite his stats.

Yep And I'm in the minority that hopes we bring badk both Williams and Tomlinson long term because this will mean the D line as a whole wse a beast, and a great defense starts here. Rolling the unused cap space over, cutting Tate and even letting Zeitler go if Gates is the answer at C and they feel Lemieux is good to go will get this done Then on paper if Carter takes the mext step as does X man behind a beastly D line that's the foundation for a long term top defense in the league

That's what makes this such a risky trade. The Jags did well here. The deadline has passed to sign franchise tagged players so the Vikings can't do anything till after the season.

Exactly And as stated above we have a player with virtually the same production for pennies on the dollar in comparison without giving up draft picks.

What player has never whiffed on a tackle? LT? I would doubt that is true.
