I am extra excited for the new NYG season with what is going on in the world. That being said, I am very interested in the many storylines around the NFL. 1) Brady and his success or failure 2) Newton and his success or failure 3) Belichick and his success or failure sans Brady 4) Gronk and his success or failure 5) The Buffalo Bills who have put character first and their success or failure 6) The potential Fallout for Brees, both for his statement about protesting and then again for retracting it 7) will Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray continue to ascend despite what some considered to be flaws in their games or stature. 8) Will McCarthy get the most out of the Cowboys or will the meddling Jones cause issues? 9) Is Philip Rivers done or will he reach the promised land working with Frank Reich? 10) Will the Browns be a playoff contender finally or will they continue to flounder despite a very talented roster?
I'm sure I missed some but wow, "as the football world turns".

Thought he'd not do well in the NFL. I was 100% wrong. This kid has arrived. He has what it takes going forward. BYW he is listed at 6'2". Whats wrong with his stature. Murray had a very good 1st season but still has much to prove.

I too thought Jackson would flop, but you and I were not alone. I remember former SB team building GM Bill Polian even saying he should change positions. Jackson proved many wrong, but there are flaws. His passing can be suspect. How many years can he slide by with his legs and the subsequent contact. Murray was the one I was referring to as to his stature. He was definitely on the rise, but will DC's figure out how to defend him? I didn't mean to say they were equivalent at this point, but that both had serious challenges to becoming long term Franchise QBs and would they overcome them. Lots of interesting stuff to follow.

I think Lamar Jackson success surprised everyone. Even people that thought he was good. 4 QB's drafted in 1st rd before him. Ravens moving up to last pick in 1st rd to grab him. Now they have him that extra year on rookie contract before paying him 40-45 mil per year. His passing did improve his 2nd year where he led the league in TD passes (36) and should still improve some more this season in his 3rd year.
Murray should jump up this season in his 2nd year as well, especially with the addition of Hopkins as his #1 receiver. Arizona looks like a really fast team. These QB's with such speed are going to be such weapons. They need to slide and run out of bounds but with that said they pick up so much yardage with their legs it keeps their offense on the field.
In the next year or 2 this probably becomes the new trend.

Living in north Florida, Im excited to watch Gardner Minshew shut some people up. The kid can play. The team he is on is awful however.
Im tired of EVERYONE dumping on him when he showed great potential last year. I thought he was the best QB of the 2019 class to be honest with DJ and Murray just behind.
Hopefully his personality didnt/ doesnt get in the way of his development.

Also, Ill be watching KJ Hill's play. I still cant believe he fell to the 7th round. I think he can be a great slot WR. Even go outside every now and then. His route running is superb.

There isnt one analyst or even a poster on here that says he is the future of the Jags at QB. Its all about they are tanking for Lawrence. Minshew just had a GREAT rookie season on a bad team, and all of a sudden he is getting thrown out in many eyes. He cant hack it. I completely disagree. Has nothing to do with where he was selected.

Possible they were looking towards 2021 draft and Lawrence anyway. Lets see what Minshew does this season. I like the kid.

I mean, if they get the number one pick, it will be VERY hard to turn down the potential of Lawrence. Id say the same if the Giants have the #1 pick. Minshew has to play his ass off really to save his job in Jax to make sure they win enough to not get that #1 pick.

He obviously has tools, but Trevor Lawrence is the next great franchise changing hope.

I haven’t seen many people rag on Minshew. He’s just on a terrible team that is obviously tanking for Lawrence, who is the next Elway, or so I’m told.
He’s going to have to carry that team to 4 wins by himself if he doesn’t want to be replaced. And, even that might not be enough. I think the owner wants a full slate cleaning, and a shiny toy to start it all off.
He’ll get another chance to compete for a job.

Jacksonville probably gets at least a 2nd for him IMO he has a backup ceiling Back up ceiling for a QB who went 6-6 last year on a terrible jags team as a rookie, with 21 TDs and 6 INTs and 3200+ yards... in 12 games. And was one of the better QBs making throws on the run because he had an awful OLine. Im not saying he will be a HOFer but come on. How do you come to a conclusion like backup ceiling for him? Im comping him to Tony Romo. Thats who he reminds me of.

Kid can play. Believe it.

It's a win now or instill winning culture now league, or else you are roofing or selling insurance instead of playing or coaching. Minshew is easy to root for. Josh Allen looked like he took a big step today.

Minshew was what I expected, but Im a little miffed by KJ Hill week 1. Everything I read had him as the slot, and to play quite a bit. He only saw 12 snaps. Maybe he doesnt fully grasp it yet. He did play at Ohio St where you can ball out and be pretty thick.
I still have confidence in him.

Well, this is mostly still viable today. Will Brady play like he did this week or be up and down the rest of the season? Murray is the real deal especially when AZ crafted the offense for him. Josh Allen is a franchise QB for sure but the Bills D has slipped a bit. It will be very interesting to see how Payton does with Winston. It will also be interesting to watch how the Eagles and Cowboy organizations handle their adversity. Which Cam shows up each week? It goes on and on. "As the league turns".
