WAY too early to give up on Jones. I wanted NYG to take Josh Allen but was admittedly ok and excited about Saquon. I have watched every game Josh Allen has played with Buffalo--as I have DJ and Eli before him. I have seen that "look" on Elis face on and off throughout his career, and I watched it come and go the last two seasons with Josh Allen. That "look" is one of bewilderment, and certainly looks like a lack of confidence. As recently as the beginning of this season the talk radio heads in the Buffalo market were wondering if Josh Allen would ever be a 300 yd a game QB who could win with his arm. As many of us remember, Eli looked downright awful at times during his first two seasons--and he was surrounded by much more talent. The brilliant GM of the Bills went out and got the absolute best weapon he could have traded for in Stephon Diggs. He also drafted some WRs late that have quickly emerged. Wa La! Josh Allen is leading the league in many categories and is tearing up the league. Fellow board member TEM said he wished DJ would play with more abandon, thats exactly how Allen plays. He will eventually give a game away but his confidence and swag is soaring now. The key pieces his GM has acquired for him have made a ton of difference. I rarely play armchair GM but I am on record on this board as to being perplexed at not drafting/signing a WR or Center. Gates may improve and I do appreciate him as a lunch bucket guy but DJ is trying to compete with little to no running game and a weak stable of WRs.

He's clearly regressed and looks like a shadow of his rookie season. To his defense, the entire offense has played remarkably bad. In contrast to my initial thoughts, Garrett looks clueless running the offense. Agree with this, not on the Garrett thing though. I don't think this offense has the horses. That's on Dave. The only position that got upgraded was LT. Didn't add a weapon, Golden Tate is a year older, razor thin to deal with an injury to the one guy a defense even has to remotely worry about. The problem with that argument is that they couldn't move ball with one of the most talented RB's in the league. A few weeks ago Slayton was everyone favorite and now he can't catch a cold.

Well, Barkley did get hurt on a nice play and was a receiving threat. Some of what I'm saying is theoretical for sure, but Tomlin said the Steelers sold out to stop him. That level of respect is a big deal for an offense.

I thought his passes were accurate, the running was great, the redzone plays need work and the oline needs to be sorted out. he isnt fumbling much holding the ball , the transfers need practice. Did we even get into the redzone today?

Probably his worst game as a Giant. He appears to be regressing.
He’s like all of the bad parts of Eli without any of the good.
This loss was demoralizing on so many levels but the worst part for me was that this is the first game that made me seriously question whether Jones is actually the guy. Right now, the needle is pointing way down on Jones IMO

worst game of his career. Terrible in every aspect aside from a few good runs.
Same comments go for the rest of the team. They all stunk with the exception of the STs.

Piss poor. Not only is he not improving, he's getting worse.
He isn't as decisive with his throws. His throws aren't as accurate. He's not seeing defenders. His pocket awareness is nonexistent. His turnovers are plentiful, each as crippling as the next.
Every game I expect him to take a step forward, and every game I'm let down. He's making it very easy for me to hope we draft a QB in 2021.

I have a few thoughts:
-His mobility was on display here and honestly he looked really good running the ball. Keep the option in the playbook.
-The fumble on the sweep to Engram. I hate "blame", always have in football. It was just sloppy. I'm glad the play was used, but it was just ****in ugly
-The pick to Engram is where I'm scratching my head. What are we doing here? The LB is offset and has a clear path to jump the ball and you throw it off to his side of the target. At least with Eli the picks would be 15+ yards down field on a 3rd & long chuck n duck. We're throwing picks on 4 yard curls here. Bad decision and throw on an easy route that shouldn't have been thrown in the first place.
-Some off target throws that were unusual for Jones. Thinking the corner to Engram specifically where he was really open.
All in all Jones has played 15 games and is just about rounding out a "whole" rookie season. I am loathe to jump on him and cast him aside so quick, but in the spirit of being objective about his play - it hasn't been good. Obviously the short offseason, new offense and very real problem of having a lackluster cast around him hurts, but still.

I was hoping it was just the goofy way he sounded that made the Eli connection, but with the turnovers he makes he is going to get sued for because Eli copyrighted them.

Jones looks like crap. There is no way to sugar coat it. He just got outplayed by Nick Mullens who started his 9th game of his career.

For as much as people are excusing jones for not having weapons, Nick Mullens, with less career starts, dropped 30 points and 300 passing yards on us with guys like Aiyuk, Borne, Wilson and the ghost of Jordan Reed as his top weapons.

From what I have seen so far, Jones has a ceiling of Ryan Tannenhill at best, or a decent back up at worst. 13 more games to prove himself, but if thte Giants of the #1 pick, Trevor Lawrence needs to be the pick.
