I thought his passes were accurate, the running was great, the redzone plays need work and the oline needs to be sorted out. he isnt fumbling much holding the ball , the transfers need practice.

His worst game in his young career. 6 turnovers in 3 games. That’s inexcusable..

I thought he lacked the accuracy we usually see from him on top of the other issues.

D / He used his legs well , did not fumble but still turned the ball over regardless... Missed throws , still takes too long to read the field. Inconsistent with just about every pass that isn’t a slant pattern. Not much of anything to be encouraged about.

He doesn't have "IT" I don't see it, the Turnovers are just too much regardless if you blame him for it or not. Other young QB's are not turning the ball over as much
Even when he plays well he is not Special, Gettleman FAILED simple as that! Sure you keep playing and hope he improves...however if we're in position to draft Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields...you don't even hesitate to take one of them!
Lets see how he finishes the season, still a lot of football left but I just don't see it in him and I don't think things will get better

I think he's smart, he's got the tools, very accurate most of the time, can move around, but I just don't see or feel it with him for seome reason. I always felt a bit of magic when Eli was young in his career. I just don't get that same vibe from jones. Hoping i'm wrong.

He's clearly regressed and looks like a shadow of his rookie season. To his defense, the entire offense has played remarkably bad. In contrast to my initial thoughts, Garrett looks clueless running the offense.

He was a bad glorified running back. He has to do better.

It got so bad that Garrett started to call QB options. To keep Jones from throwing the ball. If that’s isn’t an indictment on Jones, I don’t know what is.

If that’s isn’t an indictment on Jones, I don’t know what is. no , he wanted to display jones talent. and he did. adds something the d has to worry about, its not like jones is dumping them off to the dirt. jones is pretty accurate. he wasnt getting time on many plays he was hurried a lot

He is who he is, the turnovers have been an issue since college, I really don't think it's going to change.
That being said, this OL is no better, arguably worse, than it's ever been.
That's on one guy.

I was going to make a post on it, but I'll keep it here since i don't want to be too gloom and doom. But I think his career will be unsuccessful. The reason why isn't his fault. In fact, for many QBs, it rarely is. The reason for failures? Change. Successful QBs all of had stability early in their careers. The guy hasn't been in the league 2 years yet and he's had 2.
I mean, if Alex Smith had some consistency in coaching. He could have been really, really good.

I posted this in the game day thread. I think it should be here as well.
He has a confidence problem that he did not have with Shurmur. He is not crisp anymore.
IMO: I think he has been pounded way too much about TOs. Now he has turnover on the brain. He is thinking about it. That is a problem. It needs to be a natural occurrence like mussel memory without a thought process. I would rather him have the TOs and not worry about it. Let him play and work it out. At some point, if he is allowed to mature as a QB. It will be an uneasy feeling if it does not look right to complete the pass No No No yes. Like that. The way he looks now everything is no no no no no no with unsure and uneasy. I would rather him be like F it and confident and if it gets picked. It gets picked. Judge and Garrett seem to have wussified him. That ain't good

I'm not pleased with how he's perfomred these first three weeks and I had low expectations and I certainly get what he's up against, so i'm going to refraim from ripping the kid, but if he doesn't get it together with some of his glaring issues I'll be very uneasy going into next season. Lots of football to play, lets hope things start clicking not just for him, but the others as well.

He is smart enough to work it out without the need for "nanny" coaching.

In contrast to my initial thoughts, Garrett looks clueless running the offense. Agree with this, not on the Garrett thing though. I don't think this offense has the horses. That's on Dave. The only position that got upgraded was LT. Didn't add a weapon, Golden Tate is a year older, razor thin to deal with an injury to the one guy a defense even has to remotely worry about.

There's just no smoothness or timing to this offense. Part of it is DJ, but it's everything, ol, routes, etc. I agree, we have yet to see the rhythm that a cohesive offense need to be successful. The fumble was a perfect example. The niners were running jet screens and backfield timing plays to perfection all game. We try one and fumble. And it wasn't DJ or engram specifically, it was just badly timed. I get our disadvantages this year. But so far this is not a well coached team, regardless of talent.
